Well done on your success, Barbara! And it probably is the best way to see because people love to put a face to the author and get an autograph as well. But I don't blame you being frustrated. I'm being pedantic and you might want to curse me but I found the edits below. Take care Debbie

I usually edit a lot more than I did this post. Thank you for the catches. It's amazing that others didn't catch those. I appreciate it.

You can buy them for cost right? And if he is not doing any publicity then why does he need more money. God I wish I had money and could travel. I would get things going for you. Interviews with the local paper. A contest where each purchase gets them chance at a drawing. The winner gets to have their name used for one of the characters in your next book. folks would gobble that up! Karen

I have done a newspaper interview, and it went very well. I may try the drawing when I do the book signing at our new bookstore. That's a great idea. Thank you for the support.

I mean you could do that at every store.

Hi Barbara,
Getting published is such a racket. I don't have the willpower to keep sending my work out there. Sheree Fitch, a well-known Canadian author, once told me it took her 10 years before a publisher finally accepted her poetry. I'm not into that. I write for fun. It's a hobby for me. I have been noticed, though, and a few of my poems are included in books by Sheree and David Goss. Sheree and an English professor at UNB, Ann Hunt, had an anthology of Children's Literature by Atlantic authors published back in 2017. They included two of my poems for the book, "Whispers of Mermaids and Wonderful Things". I was so pleased. And David Goss is our local historian. He has several interesting books published, and he has included 5 or 6 of my poems in some of them. I'm quite satisfied with that. Who knows, maybe I'll send some of my adult poems to Nimbus in Halifax to see what they think. I've only sent my children's poems out once with only a rejection letter to show. That was enough for me.
Good luck with your book sales. You've got a nice setup there, looking pretty professional behind the table!
A few spots to look over:

I certainly didn't spend enough time editing this. My novels I edit for weeks before I post. Thank you for the catches. I appreciate the help and the advice. HUGS!!

I don't think it is bragging, it is interesting information. I don't know how publishers sell books. Don't they have a catalog they send to bookstores? Or does your publisher only sell online?

Good question. I don't know. I will surely ask. Thank you for the support.

I think you could do it all yourself without your publisher. You said another time that he is trying to hurry you. Your sales are more successful than his, perhaps because of your lower price.
My first book was with a publishing company. They did little and took a long time to do it, and have done no marketing (unless I am willing to pay several hundred dollars more.) I have been encouraged by FS writers to self publish and am working on that.
Congratulations on your writing successes as well as for your book sales.

There's still the same problem with self-publishing. How to get ones name out there. My publisher has set up my website and author's pages on FaceBook and Amazon, but again, nobody knows to go there. Thank you for the support.

Barbara,
Congratulations on your writing success.
I'm glad you wrote this article, because many people here on fs, who haven't been published yet, like me, can hope to someday achieve success.
I hope your book signings go well in Texas.
Have a nice week,
Best wishes!

Yay! Congratulations, Barbara, you have so many books! I'm proud of you. I would fire your publisher.
I love your books.
Well done,

I have actually threatened that on a few occasions when I feel he hasn't worked fast enough on getting my novel published. LOL When I speak with him, my husband now goes outside. He's afraid I might get loud. Hmm? Thank you for the support.

Of course we know you aren't bragging! And I appreciate your encouragement, Barbara! A local bookstore is selling my children's sci-fi book but I don't do any book signing. And you're right about the sales price. That's the nice thing about self-publishing, we can sell at our own idea of a good price.
I can't help but belive something can be worked out. (believe)
My purpose for doing this is NOT to bragg, (brag)

Hi Barbara, thank you for sharing your story. My friend just self_published a book on Amazon and she is struggling with the marketing and promotion side. Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings.

Thank you for the information and the encouragement. Many of my books of poetry are small so that I can sell them cheaply. I am not really writing to make money as my pensions along with my wife's pension are enough for our survival.

I don't need the money. I only make enough money to pay taxes on it, but there's a reviewer here to thinks if I was really any good I would sell more books. I keep being questioned. I know I should let this person get to me, but I do have doubtful moments when I'm reading the reviews.
-
I am certain that I am not the only person who gives you enthusiastic reviews. While I can only speak for myself, I have no reason to lie to you about how your writing affects me. It is perfectly understandable to question yourself, but under no circumstance should you ever change or stop writing.
-
I needed that. Thank you and hugs.
