This is a very good poem. I love the information at the bottom. The picture is also good for for the poem. It is well written.
I agree with you completely. I really think Donald us evil. All he does is spread hate. Great job

It almost sounds like hypocrisy, doesn't it? Which seems to be a common thread through most of his opinions. Things that benefit him are ok but when the same thing benefits someone else, it needs to be removed. or with regard to laws, they only apply to others and not to him. It's frustrating to watch as someone is allowed to get away with things that would immediately land someone else in prison. Well, you got me going lol. I will stand down off my soap box now. Thanks for sharing.

I'm starting to think that only anti-Trump people review my posts. Because it's the same few people every time and I thank you for being one of them.

Thank you also for your insightful comments and excellent rating

I actually had someone comment about my refugee poem that the people were just needy and that's why they were coming over here. I responded. They're not just needy. They're fleeing from death. I think most of them may just be needy, but maybe they still should be allowed in because maybe they're facing starvation at home.

Very interesting. Well-made and the rhyme scheme flows smoothly from start to finish. The political content is easy to understand. On the surface this makes Trump seem like a hypocrite (like most politicos) But, let me point though something may have benefited him personally as a civilian yesterday, that doesn't mean it benefits the entire nation today. As president or any leader of anything, you must do what benefits the whole (company, family, or country), not you, personally. Isn't that correct?

Yes it is correct. But I can't think of anything. Trump did that helped everybody in the country. He only gave tax cuts to the rich and taxed others st a higher rate. I was middle class, but my tax rates went up while the wealthy tax rates went down. How is that good for the country? That is the only legislation I think he passed while he was president. And he had a Republican House of Representatives and Senate to start his term so he should've been able to pass a lot of things including repealing the ACA Something that gives millions of Americans health insurance where otherwise they would not have any.

I say thank God for Senator John McCain, who was the only thing between millions of people losing health insurance and then keeping it

It's funny that there was a poll among Republicans about whether or not they approved of Obama care. Because he was Democratic president most of them gave thumbs down.to it.

When the same Republicans were asked if they approved the ACA they approved it overwhelmingly because a lot of them were using it

Thank you for your wonderful thought-provoking comments and your excellent rating

-Thanks for sharing the photo, notes, and poem, Pam.
-Trump's son Baron looks just like his father in this picture.
-I agree with you about the situation being hypocritical.
-You wrote a good poem about the whole situation.
-Effective imagery and rhyme that tells a good story.
-There is a smooth flow of ideas from verse to verse.
-This is an excellent description of what migrants are facing:
"The migrants' children fret and weep.
Their parents cry themselves to sleep."
-The next verse is also very good.
-A very good closing verse. Very well done.

Other than our Native Americans, we all came as immigrants to the shores of what became the United States of America.

Trump's chain migration issue is just one of his many falsehoods and deceitful comments.

His family came from the same town as the (food family) Heinz did. If I am not mistaken they have a street named after that family. The Drumpfs (or Drumphfs?) do not! They celebrate only one family.

Most of us living today in the USA benefitted from chain migration in years gone by. The first of my family came from Russia-Poland in the mid 1850s. Others soon followed to enjoy the American experience.

Most of us did not enjoy the accumulated Trump wealth, but we are proud Americans and don't denigrate our fellow citizens and residents because of their nationality or religion.

Excellent job with your essay and author notes. Thanks for what many of us believe about the deviousness of Trump and his acolytes.

Mark

Unfortunately only the people that originally agreed with this are going to like this. It's not going to
change anybody's minds. I've lost many people who could review my poems because of my political post like this.

I do thank you for your wonderful comments and do agree with you about Trump or should I say, Trumpty Dumpty? I'm waiting for the time when he can't be put back together again. I thank you also for the shiny stars and I appreciate it very much

Good flow to this poem. the words sail along and at the same time so aptly describe the ironic history of Trump's past. The twisted path from then to now is nicely laid out. Excellent poem.

Yes it seems as though I'm educating a few people about this chain migration. But I'm sure I'm losing some reviewers because I'm making them mad by telling the truth about Trump.

Thank you for your wonderful comments and for your shiny stars. Both are greatly appreciated.

One thing I can't stand is a liar or a hypocrite and he is both! Oyr country was founded by immigrants and they are who built this country first by fighting for its freedom and secondly by working with their hands. I find it difficult to trust anyone who uses but abuses...Great poem filled with tons of information.

It is amazing to think that people who come from families who were once immigrants themselves don't want to welcome people who are in the same position they once were. A well written, informative piece, I didn't know a lot of these things about Donald Trumps family other than on his mother's side he's half Scottish. A well written piece Pam.

Yes. Mary McLeod was his mother. But the Trump family's chain migration was not the same as some of these other families because they are fleeing war, famine, dictatorship, extreme poverty

None of that happened to the Trump family. The reason they to get here is because the patriarch refused to go in the draft. Does that sound familiar? Trump's family had enough money that when he was called to go to Vietnam he got a doctor to say there was something wrong with his toe.

Thank you for this. Nice discussion your wonderful comments and your excellent rating.

Well said, Pam. As well as being the biggest liar on the planet, Donald Trump is one of the biggest hypocrites! I am glad to see his star start to fade and I am enjoying his current meltdown as he sees Harris's rally sizes exceed his own and how she is claiming all of the media's attention these days.

I hope more and more focus on his age and mental state will make all the difference in November, though of course he will never accept a loss. Fingers crossed that doesn't bring about more chaos!

I think he's serious when he says there will be riding in the streets. I don't think it will be all of his supporters just a bunch of hooligans. I'm sure there are hooligans on Kamala Harris side too. But if she lost, I don't think there would be tiotimb in the streets unless he cheated. He has some secretaries of state that say they will not certify the election if he loses and he's got those states and he's got Supreme Court in his pocket.

Thanks for the great comments and excellent rating
