Very powerful poem that shows how someone could experience loneliness through being hurt. You have some really great lines and a killer ending.
Best wishes in the contest and enjoy the rest of your week!

Love the picture that inspired you to write this magical poem. The feeling of emptiness when someone leaves us and brings grief to the table is filled with loneliness, love Dolly x

That was haunting and troubling. Eloquently describes after someone loves you how dead you feel inside. Very well done and I wish you the best in the contest.

An excellent poem which certainly met the required brief for the contest. You expressed the pain of loneliness with raw emotion. Well done. Best wishes for the contest.

Love it! Very arty and skilful in its depiction of loneliness. A lovely, fluent free verse perfectly complementing the image. "You ripped your way right through my very core." Excellent! And a strong contender for me. Good luck! Debbie

Wow! The poem is beautiful, but together, the poem and picture are a perfect combination. You were truly inspired by the picture because the poem is a perfect representation. Very well done!

This poem, The Rest of Me, speaks to that hollow and used feeling that is the remnant of a one-sided romance that breaks unevenly leaving less of one person than was there before.

great poem about experiencing loneliness love these lines
Was it not enough to leave
me lonely, wrapped in wounds?
You ripped your way right through my very core.
Did it not suffice to still my soul
and steal my trust?

What an empty feeling! When you give your all to someone expecting the same in return and then for whatever reason they leave and you feel gutted, like nothing is left. Your words said it all!
smiles, Carol
