An uplifting and hopeful story. These "saints" come in all stripes and colors and often fly under the radar with a total disregard for fanfare. Wow! I had no idea about this man. The only confusion I had was that I didn't know his position when I read of his issuing so many visas. It doesn't say that he was a diplomat until close to the end of the piece. Very satisfying to read of such a person. Thank you!

I feel I'm way out of your league, (meaning you're so much better) but it might be interesting to toss a few ideas around. As far as more modern-day individuals, I'd love, had I the ability, to do something about Roy Rogers, a California staple. He even tried to get a town named after him once. I corresponded long ago with a writer who wrote a screenplay on Roy and Dale and no studio would touch it unless he left out the part about their Faith.

Even though the world is aware of the Holocaust, there were many unknown heroes. Feng Shan-Ho is one such hero. I was not aware of his courageous attempts to assist Jewish Immigrants. Thank you for this well-written introduction.

Kristallnacht - I can't understand how people can actually believe that this didn't happen. While living in Germany, we visited Dachau and the horrors that happened there made my skin crawl fifty some years later. Thank you for sharing this with us.
