Even when grief and sadness surround us in our lifetime, it is a precious gift to have beautiful memories to lean on and remember the good times, those special times between those we love so dearly. I lost a four-year-old son who was a "Dennis the Menace" in his own way. I am so thankful for those memories and those dancing eyes. Thank you for sharing. And the car...well, that goes without saying. Gorgeous!

And so sorry for your loss, sweetie. A child is the worst loss possible, as we found with Josette. We are blessed to have your cheerful smile among us daily and hope that knowing what you have been through is comfort when you know how much you are loved here. Name the child in paragraph four -- it's confusing (for a moment) because without naming Denny, you might be referring to Pat here: " One day, he knew they would be leaving soon, and he hated it when they left because he was a little shadow to them when they were together."
Otherwise, excellent. I enjoyed it very much.

Dawn, I thank you for your kind comments and review. And also for your suggestion about using Denny's name in paragraph four, and I did change it to make it more clear. So thanks for that. (Even tho, Pat would not have made a good little shadow) LOL, just trying to be funny, because you were right.
Also for your thoughtfulness about my brother and Josette's death.
They were both so hard to endure, but that has been a while.

He was not at all narcissistic, but he had a great sense of humor and was incredibly witty.

A good story. I didn't have any little brothers as I am the little brother. I tried to pull that stunt on my dad one day as he left for work, but he caught me (there was no blanket to crawl under in the back and I think my mother saw me when I crawled into the car). Hi there Dan, I appreciate your kind words for my story about my little brother. He was a little shister and he was spoiled being the youngest, which took him to a spoiled adult who did not have to listen to anyone. Traveled out in a snowstorm and with visibility so bad on the freeway, ran into a tow truck pulling someone out of the ditch. The arm on the truck went thru the windshield and broke his neck. He died minutes after the highway patrol got there. Sorry for throwing that all at you. But I knew you could take it.
Kinda puts a little damper in my little funny story, but thanks for listening.
