She sounds like my 82-year-old mother. She won't ride with anyone she has to drive, and that's pretty scary as she loves curbs. Thank you for sharing Grace with us.
God bless,
Steve

Laughing. Loves curbs. You/she must buy a lot of tires.
    Thanks for reading and commenting.

This is a very sweet poem about aging gracefully. Your 3rd cousin Grace seems to be enjoying her life and still living it well. This art work you chose is too cute. That poor dog looks petrified. Thanks for sharing my friend. love and blessings, Teri

Thanks, Terry. Have to say it is pure fiction. I "thunk" her up :)
Then, I looked for a picture and when I found this one, I loved it and had to add to the poem.
Thanks for reading it and for your lovely comments!

Hi, pome lover

This is charming. I noticed a rhyming scheme and it was easy to read. So that means it had good flow.

I'm much younger than she is and I'm confined to a wheelchair, but that is the effects of arthritis for 71 years. It takes its toll.

Where I am, there are lots of people over 90 years old. And a lot of them are very active. Some don't even have walkers. It's amazing. The oldest resident here is 103. I'm in Assisted-living.

I thought your poem was charming and I really enjoyed reading it

Good job. Thank you for sharing.

Well, I'm a bunch older that you, so I identify with her. but 103, I can't imagine. By the way, Grace is pure fiction, except I do play online Sudoku, and it's a lot of fun. Helps keep my noggin working.
I'm sorry about your situation, but I hope you enjoy some the people there. And I appreciate your reading my post and your very nice comments! Maybe you could try online Sudoku??

Hahaha.... funny poem that made me laugh. I know ladies like that. I like rambunctious elderly ladies who likes them boring. Lol

A fun post. Thank you

Thanks. It was fun to write, and I'm glad you liked it. Total fiction, except I have her playing online Sudoku, which is a lot of fun if you haven't played it.

I love this poem. I know just how she feels and know several people just like her. You might try selling it to Country Women or AARP, after you check out what they buy on their website.

wow! thanks, Carol! This was pure fiction, but I've found that several people have said they know people like her. Makes me smile!
Good idea about the magazines. thank you.
There's a magazine, Country Women? didn't know that.
And a 6?! Wonderful!! Thank you kindly!!!!

This is or was Country Woman. I think I saw it on the magazine rack at the grocery store by the checkout. They pay very well but have specific guidelines. Women's World is also a good market and they are on the checkout magazine rack at the grocery story.

Pome Lover,

This is an excellent humor poem about aging gracefully that is rich with verses that tickle the funny bone. The accompanying photo adds brilliantly to the theme and the story you've crafted within this rhyming poem. Well done.

All the best,

Eugene

    Thanks, Nichole!
This is pure fiction, but I saw the picture and the dog cracked me up, and the poem took off from there.
I bet you and your grandpa have a great relationship.
    Thanks for your neat comments!

I enjoyed this poem about your cousin. Was this poem true or made up? Is that your cousin in the picture? I really enjoyed this, and I liked your rhymes. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

Bless you, Jessi, for the wonderful 6!!!
However, she is just in my imagination. I saw the picture of her and the dog with the priceless expression and the poem took off. I'd love to have a cousin like her, though. :)
    Many thanks again!!

I couldn't help but smile as I read your pleasant post. It reminded me so much of my mother who passed away last year at age 95. She drove her car until 91 which was way too long!

Oh Katharine, I could read your posts forever! Such humour and what an amazing 3rd cousin. I know that's not her in the visual because I've seen it before but how brilliantly that captures Grace out on her shopping trips! I think the dog will meet its maker before Grace!!. I love this woman and want her in my life. And she'll be so honoured by this delightfully fluent and rhyming tribute! Well done! Debbie

Bless you, Debbie! You do me a world of good!
Grace is another figment of my imagination. But as I am "getting up there" myself, in age, I'd like to be like her. I wish she were my cousin.
And yes, the dog's expression tickled me and I had to use the picture.
Thanks for your always lovely comments! They are truly appreciated!
