I love cross cultural talk, I remember some French friends of ours, visiting Australia, could only speak French, but my wife also speaks French, our Australia friend spoke to the French couple in broken English with an accent, until we told her the French still couldn't understand her, it was hilarious, beautifully written Jim, blessings Roy
Typo : New (your) Mets sweatshirt. York?

Thank you so much, good friend. You ought to write that up as a story!

I could be possible

His bride, Veronica, short, with frilly blonde hair and a New Your Mets sweatshirt, was by his side.
I like the imagery here. This is a good entry overall

Thanks for entering the this wacky museum challenge, Jim! I have to admit some of the accented speech humor went over my head. Was the "shoes" supposed to be "choose"?
I like that even though they went to the professor for help with speaking and their marriage, it turned out that Giuseppe was always talking because his mama didn't let him talk. That's cute! Marriage is saved!
But thanks for the song - it was something from my husband's childhood. ð???

Actually, it was broken English Italian for "sure!" In the old days, vaudeville featured many ethnic comics. People didn't get offended as much back then. The managers ruled the roost and paid the performers. There was an old team that was told by the manager to cut their act short. (They were an Italian dialect act). So, they went on, one said, "Do you want to look for a new job?" The other said, "Shoes", and they walked offstage. The Manager couldn't complain. They did what he told them to do.

Lol. That's funny. I had no idea. I would think with an Italian accent, "Sure" with a rolled R, would be easier to say that shoes!

I read that many years ago in a historical account of vaudeville times.

"Shaddap You Face!" Sounds like something my obnoxious baby sister used to say.
"a New Your Mets sweatshirt," Did you mean New 'York' Mets?
You just gotta love the way non-English speaking immigrants/foreigners speak the language--adorable.
"He needs to learn some Connecticut" Now that is some highly specialized breed of English--never to be taken lightly.
Haha! A nicely humoous piece here.

This was funny and I enjoyed, You did good with the Italian accents I did have to read in a couple of times because I've not been around that dialect very. Good writing.

This probably would have worked better as an audio recording.
