Ha ,Ha. Love the concept of putting a recipe to writing. There are so many people with a recipe, their own or handed down over the years from Mum or grandmother. This one sounds tasty. I am in Australia but although we do not have some of the brand names we do have plenty of good substitutes. Keep cooking and thanks for sharing.

Hey Barry, thank you so much, but this is a contest and we weren't allowed a picture, so was the four stars a slip of the finger or is there something I could done better?
-
A slip of the finger. I can go back and change it to a five. Will do asap. Well done.
-
Oh thank you. I appreciate that.

Thank you for this great recipe, I'm sure there will be a whole heap of recipes on this site, it is so incredibly kind of people to take the Time, the energy and the inclination, mostly they are cake recipes, thank you, blessings Roy

Oh, thanks so much, Roy. You are so kind and I know you would love this. If you have your own white sauce recipe, that would work too. Or you could use a jar of Alfredo sauce. Then the rest is easy. It is just this sauce that is a little time consuming,
Thanks for the awesome comments for my recipe.

I enjoyed this read, and I make a similar dish over here in Australia, and it really is good. As well as ham, I sometimes use bacon, and often finely chop or grate leftover vegetables or lentils etc (Kids rarely notice these, and still enjoy it!). Sometimes I use up stale bread. It's very versatile, and very yummy. Best wishes for the contest!

That is so awesome, Wendy. I had never heard of anyone else doing white sauce in their egg bakes. But as I kept changing it, the family loved it more and more.
So when I make it I quadruple it for my family. If you have your own white sauce recipe that is good. Another thing that works is Alfredo sauce in a jar also works in a pinch. I did make one correction I forgot to tell you is that I put only a half of each crescent roll down so it doesn't get too bulky.
I need to ask you how you use your stale bread? I would love to try that.does the stale bread or dried bread. Do you just tear or cut into pieces like stuffing bread, and then line the bottom of glass pan with it?
-
Yes, just cut or tear it into pieces and cover the base.

Now my mouth is watering. I love things with egg an cheese. I've never hear of some of the ingredients, by those names (we buy butter by the packet... usually 500 g) and I don't know what Jack cheese is so I think anyone who makes this will find it turns out to be uniquely theirs.
Good luck in the contest! We aim to have Fanstorians racing to their kitchens.

Thank you Sallyo, I will go in and edit the Jack cheese. It is Colby and mozzarella cheese and I will add the half pound of butter. I appreciate your input immensely so thank you my friend.

I didn't mean you should change it! Recipes are personal and I expect people from where you live will understand it perfectly. They might find an Australian recipe perplexing:-)

I know, but I think I should have been more clear, so I appreciated what you said, hope it helps. Thanks!
