Whoa, this is so sad. I kept waiting for an upbeat conclusion but there was none to be had. I feel let down from reading this. The ending did not conclude anything other than to say this was a teachable moment in time for you. So sorry for your loss. I hope you regain hope and survival techniques to help you through the day.
Keep the faith!

I wrote this as to how it was then. But "then" is not now. I learned to make peace with the many losses I had, as well as those where I felt I could have done a better job. I learned to depend upon a particular AA meeting that I could depend upon them to set me straight. But then is not now. Thanks for your concern. BTW, I have a new book outas of last week. My fifth. It's on Amazon. It's titled: Teachable Moments. -Bill

I apologize. It must've been the mood I was in when I read this that made me react the way I did. Good luck with your latest book.

Jesse, I value your reviews. Thank you for giving my pieces your time. -bill

If I were to suggest anything it would be to add some of what you told me into your notes at the end of the post.
I'm glad you value my critiques of your work.
Thanks, Bill.

Hi William,
This is a deeply emotional post where you share an experience that most of us have never known. You were honest with your feelings and your need for recovery from what you could never understand. I'm glad you've made it to the other side of this trauma. What was your official job in this situation?
Thank you for sharing,
Rhonda

Hi Bill,
I?ll have to check your book out. That?s very exciting.
It sounds like you had one of the toughest jobs out there. I?m a high school teacher, and have even taught in inner city Dallas. I?ve seen some stuff, but, my friend, I take my hat off to you. There aren?t many who could and would.

I have very much enjoyed listening to this very emotional and thoughtful writing about your relationship with Monica, who was dying from cancer. I am sure that the teachable moment for you was something that you will always appreciate having had in your life. I wish you the very best with all of your writing, and I am so much enjoying hearing the stories that you have to tell about your relationship with patients who are dying, which had to be very difficult. Pat.

Nothing good comes easily. It usually takes hard work and patience. Relationships in my life have never been easy. BTW, my fifth book just came out and is on Amazon. It's titled, Teachable Moments. Thanks for the review. =Bill

I was deeply moved by this Bill. I have lost close friends and have seen miracles of attitude change from being flippant and a 'fringe' like faith to near exuberance, when these friends have been in the last stages of life, but yet all have been radically changed at the end, and some even great anticipation of their impending demise, but they all had a strength at the end that made me wonder, I remember someone saying, 'I'm not afraid to die, but I'm not looking forward to the process.' I can see how this would affect you Bill, no room for arrogance, poor girl, poor you. I too am lost for words. Blessings Roy

This was a powerful and touching story. I'm so sorry that you had to go through this. But it doesn't sound like a failure at all. Not many people could do what you did. You are brave. Your writing showed us her terrible experience so well. She was so young. I'm sorry that you had to go through that but Monica was lucky to have you.
