Thank you for blessing us with this poem. I can tell it comes from the heart. It's evident. This poem is beautifully written. I know you miss your friend. I'm praying.

This poem, A Jerusalem Spring, celebrates the arrival of another spring season, and the combination of the observance of the death and resurrection of the Son of God, so closely together.

Hi William,
Sorry for your loss and that your friend died so young.
This is a well written poem about life, death, doubt, repentance and asking for forgiveness. A lot to put it one poem. Good extended metaphor.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Have a great rest of the day and week.
Joan

I so very well wish I had a six star for this. It is absolutely beautiful. The wording is so true and I too cannot imagine what it was like for Jesus as he was going on his way to the cross of Calvary to smell. The roses are the blues that were blooming at the time. This is a wonderful poem for Palm Sunday as it leads up to Easter. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. Patricia .

Thanks, Pat. I would prefer this poem to represent Palm Sunday rather than Easter. We have a tendency to rush through the suffering and death and get to the Resurrection. -Bill

You end this lovely poem with a prayer and how effective and spiritual it is I will add that your notes that speak of writing this in tandem with one of your patients make this all the more compelling a poem to write while springtime is on the horizon. Praying for redemption is a good idea with Easter coming around the corner. May all your springtime be as lovely as the one in the picture.

Prayers to the young man who helped you in composing this lovely poem. He has experienced his rebirth.

With the Lord's love, earth blossoms in the springtime and mother nature's creatures bring new life as we celebrate God's blessing and the promise of our rebirth.
Smiles, Carol

Ciao,

Yes, Jesus was put on the cross during Spring time ..but it is also true that three days later he rose from the dead and ascended to heaven, to his celestial Father.

Spring is the season when Mother Nature awakens, animals make love and give birth and the flora /plants begin to grow and flowers to bloom.

Spring is all about rebirth and so is Easter Day.

But you can't really celebrate Easter without first having Palm Sunday.
Or, what we call Passion Sunday. We have a tendency to rush through this part and jump ahead to Easter. This poem urges us to include in our Spring, the suffering that is occurring in Jerusalem and Gaza.
Thanks for your wonderful review. -Bill

So, you were helped out by one of your clients, but it's a wondrous thing that Christ did for us, I've been meeting with others for early morning prayer, we become aware of the incredible love of God at the death and resurrection of Jesus, well done, blessings Roy

In my counseling practice, I would often get my clients to commit to writing and I would write with them. The journals of some of my clients would tear your heart out. We would work together to develop a poem. It was my way of developing our relationship with each other and it worked.
I lead two men's groups each week at 6am for prayer and Bible study. And in these groups, i have some of them beginning to write prayers and share them.
As always, Roy, I am grateful for your review. -Bill

A faithful and light hearted post full of promise of re-birth when it is spring and the sentiments behind it. I am sorry you lost your friend at such a young age, how dreadful. Your poem is uplifting, love Dolly x
