Absolutely delightful, Wendy!
Your Sunny is definitely "one of a kind" furry friend!
I love all of his "peculiarities" just like I loved the peculiarities of our furry friends, Dickens and Sophia Sadie Rose. But I do believe Sunny has them beaten on a number of fronts!
Thank you for sharing!

Thank you very much Diane! It's these very endearing qualities that are quirky, but make them very special indeed. Thank you so much for this delightful review.

Hi, Wendy!
I so wish I had a six because I love your stories about Sunny so much. He's so smart and adorable. It's amazing how they learn to manipulate us into doing exactly what they want. I hope he never discovers his food belongs to a cat or you will be in big trouble. And remember...he has an excellent memory!

Lol. Yes, I will indeed be in BIG trouble ... and he will never forget. If he finds out through reading this story he will think I have embarrassed him! And yes, I admit to having been manipulated frequently by his clever little ways.
Thanks so much for this super review. I am so glad it brought a smile to you.

Oh Wendy, he is just far too bright! He's got every dog's IQ I know wrapped up and retained all to himself! Those quirks are adorable, you are so lucky to have him! I'm wondering how his relationship with water is coming on? I always think that dogs that are wary of water are pretty smart, not like those gung ho, mad spaniels:)) Thanks for sharing this lovely, heart-warming story. Take care Debbie

Hi Debbie, his phobia of water is still very real. We haven't been to the beach lately, and he only paddled those couple of times when we were at the beach in September. The subsequent days he lost his courage again. He avoids all sprinklers, and keeps away from me if I go near the hose.
I think maybe his previous owner used to bath him with a hose with cold water. Here he has warm water baths in a tub, and a warm air blow dry afterwards. He shakes like a leaf until his teeth chatter even with a warm water bath! His eyes accuse me of ill-treatment! Thanks so much for reviewing. I am glad you enjoyed this one.

I had a beagle once who refused to snack or eat vegetables. We went so far as to hide one lone pea in his wet food. We came back after she was finished and there was that pea. The bowl and the pea had been licked clean. Lol. I understand how dogs can be. Great story. Gretchen

Sunny will eat all around peas and leave them in a row on his tray - he will never eat them, but he does like baked pumpkin, sweet potato and carrots. I am glad you enjoyed this story. Thank you so much for reviewing.

Excellent writing.
What a quirky dog! Smart, but quirky.
I'm to understand that the smartest dogs can approach the intelligence of a 3-4 year old child. If that is true, then it stands to reason that some are are the high end, even challenging the upper limit. Sunny must be such a one.
Best wishes.

It's fun to read about Sunny's quirky behaviour and I love the font style of handwriting you use to print this post. I enjoy your upbeat attitude about dog ownership. You tell a story well and leave it to us to decide why you used the title you chose. I always like your titles.
Thanks for sharing this clever tale about Sunny's behavior.
