It is amazing how strangers confess to strangers.

This is fun and I very much enjoyed reading it. I'm not sure I'd know what to do if someone just randomly started blurting all that out to me, and I certainly wouldn't be the one doing the blurting, but oh my --- to be a fly on that wall!

Excellent poem!

Thanks for your kind review. Glad you enjoyed it. Yes, I am not sure why people just blurt out their trouble or secrets, but it happens. I am not a blabber. I seem to be somewhat of a confessional. Anyway, have a great day.

This poem, The Confidant, reminds me of the psychologist's office and the bare truth that is laid down to the disinterested therapist in ways that have never been heard outside that chamber.

Bill, thanks for the review. Yes, I can see the likeness for sure. It is also somewhat similar to being a solicitor and all of a sudden a client unloads about the state of their lives which has little or no relevance to the problem at hand.
    Take care

I enjoyed your poem and found the dialogue very believable, as a woman who has been on the receiving end of similar words myself. The ending was creative and humorous. The photo you chose works well with the poem. Nicely done.

In your footnote, you describe the confessions to strangers that many people engage in. That's a good idea, but I think you have to spend some more time on this poem, making it funnier and perhaps more extreme, and perhaps also featuring the embarrassment of the woman who is victimized by the story teller.

This is amusing and I was entertained, I suppose exposing our life to a stranger means we walk away and never see them again, a fun post Barry, you made me smile, especially the last line, love Dolly x

Hope this doesn't offend. Meant as a bit of fun:

Now let me tell you
Roger's a mate of mine
He told me 'bout you too
Called you a porcupine

Said you nagged him
every day and night
and when you made out said;
'you'd kick and cuss and bite.'

Now I've listened to your case,
I understand both sides,
'Cause the Roger I know's true blue,
And still loved by all his brides.

He told me how you took,
All of his hard-earned cash.
And then one night,
You went and sold all his marijuana stash.

So there now I've defended,
My old long-time mate.
He's doing all right now,
His new bird looks like Princess Kate.

Best I could come up with.
Six stars for you poem
Three stars for mine
That means an average 4.5
But that's close enough to five

I was thoroughly enjoying this read, the rhyme and flow is excellent and the story was holding my attention, THEN bang it finished, it felt like the last stanza was a bit forced and you gave up on it, I would have enjoyed more stanzas with this humor, I do agree that there are a lot of people who just need to talk very well done****kahpot
