I'm with Mildred: Biden's too old, and Trump is an atrocity. Gotham is burning. Where the hell is Batman? I don't get involved in political banter because it leaves me feeling so impotent. Plus, nothing will change as a result of any comments I make. Ugh. It leaves the fussbudget/all-my-duckies-in-a-row teacher in me SOO unsettled.

Well-written piece, Terry.

I enjoyed reading your story. It is written well and very creative. I am very concerned for our country come Nov. All I can say is if trump gets in, our country will drastically change. I pray everyday that he doesn't. Great job

Hear! Hear! You speak for us all. And yes, we would like a godly man who speaks the truth like Brother Jim for president but good men like him know that his calling is to preach the gospel and love his family.
Enjoyed your skillful political satire, Terry! And I like your reference to one of our writers here.
So, the only solution is -- Terry Broxson for President!! (and then the FS editor will stop underlining your last name in red!)

I agree, how do we get out of this mess. But I also believe Biden is corrupt too. We have no good choices running for president. I keep praying somebody decent will run. Thank you for sharing this was funny but extremely true.

When contacted, Brother Jim replied. "I'm sorry, I have a different (replied,)

Barbara, thank you for reading. I think we are in a hole, and all we are doing is keep digging. Terry.

There are a lot of things to like in this one.

First, calling him "The Donald" just set the exact right tone for this satire.

The moment that punched me in the gut was this:

The Donald's only comment went to Fox News. "I got a lot out of the sermon. Particularly the part about the gate and the narrow way. That inspires me to build a better wall, and this time, China will pay for it."

I feel like we have seen this play out too many times and you've hit exactly how reality can be one thing and then Trump will spin it to be something completely different.

Thanks for sharing this one.

So far, you're the first politically edged post that made me laugh. I'm sure the pew was quite uncomfortable, to say the least. I liked the exchange of looks between the corrupt powers that be. I really liked the minister. Great fun piece of writing. Gretchen

I enjoyed reading your story. I would call it political satire, would you agree? You painted an accurate picture of The Donald; I do not see any room for improvement. Have a blessed day.

Very well done. I appreciate the satire and the truth made a bit more palatable by your ability to add humor. I continue to put on my rose-colored glasses and muster up as much faith in the American voter as possible. I have no idea who the actual choices will be in November, but in the end, I think the one best for America will be chosen. Good post. ann

Ann, thank you for the six stars. You are whole more optimistic than me. I think it is going to be a mess, again. Terry.

Hah!
I didn't care for the 'most likely corrupt' line, but otherwise, a very fine submission. Nicely written.
I would guess that Brother Jim will be trying out for a new church - outside Texas!
Best wishes.

Yikes, Terry. This hit on so many good points; the humor takes it to a new level of truth and penmanship. We are in trouble this election year, no doubt.

This was well done! Best, JohnC
