My daughter would relate well to your poem. I don't think she has blood in her veins anymore - instead she has coffee. My late husband and I used to get up early and have coffee together before waking the kids. It is definitely the life blood for lots of people. Great job!

All my life iv'e wanted to love coffee and drink it like everyone else, but l hate the taste. No doubt that it's soothing, and also an energizer as well. I really like this, best of luck in the contest.

Love it. Most certainly a very easy read, I do love my two cups of home made coffee in the morning. They are my first and last of the day.
The picture is also excellent.
Thank you!!

I like the silhouette picture you used to accompany this poem. A lot of folks will relate to this routine depicted in your haiku. One suggestion: make it one complete thought instead of two, by making it a sentence: soothing => soothes me. A second smaller suggestion for flow: kill the double S. Coffee in the morning soothes me. Now it's happening at one place and one time, and it paints a simple relatable picture, providing better visual integrity with the FanArt pic.
That's my 2 cents for you. Thanks for the read! Regards,

I agree that the coffee in the mornings routine is comforting - not just because we like coffee, but perhaps it's the routine itself that brings us comfort. Too bad you are unable to convey that here, as just saying that you like coffee is a little commonplace. These short-form contests are hard with so few words allowed to tell a much bigger story. A bigger story is what the committee will be looking for.
I wish you luck in the contest though, and suggest you read as many of these entries as you can to get ideas.
Take care,
Pam

Thanks to my Keurig, I am now able to treat myself with a french vanilla cappuccino each morning. Just me, the pups, and my coffee as the sun rises. You nailed it...soothing moments.

Ciao !
My co-nationals are huge coffee consumers, I'm the exception to the rule.
My father loved grounded Illy coffee which I put in our Bialetti percolator and his ginseng coffee in sachets.
I never drank either but I loved the mouth-watering aromas
Pa passed away in 2017 but I still keep a tin of Illy coffee in my cupboard, often I open it and bittersweet memories flood my mind.

Oh yes, I totally agree with you. I love the smell of the freshly ground coffee beans.
You've picked a subject that I'm sure most will agree with
coffee
in the morning
soothing
well done and good luck in the contest.

It is hard to review such a short one! This is what makes a morning meaningful to you, it is a cultural expectation or almost, and it is approriately illustrated! Best wishes for your succinct entry.

Good luck with your contest entry. Americans seem to live on coffee and it has caught on here now. This is a simple subject for the contest. It shows how much you enjoy your morning 'cuppa'. Best wishes in the contest. K xx
