Wendy, I too had a sense of foreboding the entire time I read this piece. I just kept thinking, "This place is way too good to be true."

Well told, and I like that you leave these cliffhangers at the end of your chapters - this ensures that readers will keep reading.

You're doing a marvelous job telling this story. As I've said, it would be very hard for me to turn chapters out consistently. I'm so glad you're doing it on your own time instead of on a manufactured deadline, like the "write a book in a month" challenge FS is putting out there. Quality should always come before quantity.

Nicely told, as always.

Thank you Pam! I greatly appreciate your review plus the extra star. Very grateful. Because this is non-fiction, I am trying very hard to get things exactly right, including time-frames, not forget or dismiss important details etc, so I don't want to go too speedily. I don't want to churn out any books, as like you, I think quality has to come first, and I would rather right well, than just write rubbish just for quantity. I am glad you are continuing to follow and appreciate his story. It means a great deal to me. Thank you again.

Oh, Wendy....why does a dark cloud have to follow and stand just around the corner? Jonathan's difficulties stressed him and the family enough, one would hope the transition could remain an easy, pleasant one. But then that wouldn't be life, would it? Waiting for the other shoe to drop!!!

Hugs, Carol

No, that wouldn't be life. Yes, those dark clouds continue to hover, unfortunately. Thank you for a lovely review.

This is frustrating me as you haven't linked the chapters in a book that would let me move around and check on the story as and when I can. It seems that Jonathon is being eased into an excellent half way house, just a shame it's not going to last longer. Hope your sense of foreboding is badly placed. kay

Thank you Kay for reviewing. Yes, sorry it's not in a book format. I tried that previously and found it very clumsy and difficult to manage if I wanted to change the order of a chapter etc.
In my portfolio, they all have Jonathan's Story, Chapter ... as the subheading. Hope that helps. And I hope you'll keep reading too!

Sounds great. Except for the government closing the thing down and only promising to continue programs. Your sense of foreboding could be, as you probably figured and dismissed, simple separation anxiety coupled with the fear of the unknown.
Best wishes.

Good morning Wendy,
Great that all this took place but why the sense of foreboding? A mothers intuition is what I think. Clever to leave us hanging with you last sentence... Really good...

Thank you for a lovely review, Lisa. Yes, a mother's intuition .... it is mostly reliable.

As good as it all seemed to be, your experience with nearly every facet of government service was marred by social workers withholding truths, promises not kept, support not provided, etc.

I fear there is more disappointment you will be sharing with us.

Thank God Jonathan has your love, support, respect and advocacy!

Your last line is very worrying Wendy and was this place too good to be true? I wonder. You describe an ideal place for Jonothan and you let go of your control and allowed him to start his new life in this place full of fun and caring. I sense that there will soon be a change of opinion here. A fine chapter Wendy, love Dolly x

You stated your case well. Giving up Jonothon is one of the most difficult things you have had to consider doing and now that the time is here you wonder if you've made the right choice. Your government leader sounds justice and fair but it is never easy to give up someone you love and have cared for to an institution.
I appreciate how much you love him and would do anything for him. You will always have doubts and will ponder whether you made the right decision but I think you have for whatever my opinion is worth.
Please know you and Jonothon are in my thoughts and prayers.
