Mary, thank you reading and your nice review. I also thank you for the extra star for Sarah! Terry.

I'm so sorry to hear that Sarah has passed away. I'm a bit behind in reviewing because I've been at the hospital the past four days with my husband, who had a triple bypass. It's really neat that you are responsible for inviting Sarah to join FS. I'm glad she found good writer friends here. We've lost so many FS writers recently. I'm sorry you've also lost a good friend. Blessings & prayers for comfort. Carol

Thanks, Terry. My husband didn't come home again today.

This is possibly the best thing you have ever written. If reader has no knowledge of Sarah and reads your story, they will truly know her. Terry, the honesty, the compassion and the love for a good friend is expressed in every word you use to describe. More than well-done - it is exceptional. Sarah will certainly be missed, but more than that she will be discussed, remembered for who she was. As long as someone says your name, you are never truly separated from this world. Thanks for writing this story. ann

Ann, thank you for that extra star for Sarah! I think I may have had some help in writing the story. You, Rhonda, and I were the lucky ones who got to meet a fellow member. She was indeed a very nice lady. Thank you. Terry.

I've read numerous of Sarah's posts and certainly enjoyed them. It's nice to be allowed to share in nice, intelligent people's life and travels. However, I never knew as much as you've shared with us. I'm sure Sarah will be missed greatly by all her family and friends. Thanks for sharing a glimpse into such a sweet person.

Yes, of course, you did a wonderful job here, Terry...but the sixth star is for Sarah.
It is 5:57 PM on 2/4/24 and I am just learning that Sarah has died.
When I awakened this morning, I addressed her next little note card and put a stamp on it...
God as my witness I smiled as I thought of the fun she and I had when I shared my mom had also played Bridge with Omar Sharif!
Something told me to hold off mailing the card, while simultaneously it occurred to me, that I wanted to ask you for her son's name, as I know the address from previous mailings!
I felt a chill.
I was answering a review mere moments ago when the reviewer mentioned we'd lost another member -- Sarah.
So-- I'm proud to have known her! Her talent was as real as her humor and candor...
Her courage to face an unexpected and devastating diagnosis of Stage IV Lung Cancer and make her decision to choose the final leg of life's journey according to her wishes humbled me.
Yes, yes ~ we hear it all the time. Writing site, people aren't "really" your friends, etc., etc.
Poppycock!
Sarah Robin was and will always remain my friend. I grew to love her spirit and when you mentioned in a separate message that she was aware enough to smile when you shared with her that her final post was nominated for story of the month, I could not help but let a tear slip down my cheek.
I hope she wins.
One thing she's taught us is that "winning" is not about the votes here. To win is to live your life fully, put aside the bitterness, embrace the joy, and be a beam of light to the world.
(Perhaps the flashlight would help--but surely, she beamed from within!)
I'm so thrilled Debi's poems brightened her days.
I'm equally sure your friendship was a mutual gift ~ and you do her proud as you write about her and touch our hearts.
Thank you, Terry. Thanks for introducing her to us, thanks for keeping us informed as to her condition, and oh my ~~ thanks for writing this touching, loving, straight-from-the-heart notice that she's slipped into Heaven's Writer's Group...
I'll give her another day before the Heavenly Bridge Club convenes!
Farewell for now, Sarah...
Until we meet again!

Karenina, I used the same words you used when I thanked those who gave a six...the extra star is for Sarah. As usual your ability to put your finger on the pulse of things. If you like you have her son's address, and his last name is Paschal. I only know Kevin and Denise. I'm sure they would love to hear from you, if you wish. Thank you. Terry.

Thanks. I sent a note to "The Family of" Sarah Robin tonight, but will send a sympathy card to The Paschal's.

Thank you, Terry, for writing this tribute to Sarah and her very recent passing. I will always remember her as a fun person who loved to play bridge. She was kind, compassionate, and everything that goes into a strong and healthy person. I will miss her dearly.
You must be proud to be among her close friends and I know she will miss all of us at Fan Story.
Thanks again for sharing yours and her passion for life.

I enjoyed Sarah's descriptions of places she had lived or visited, that I might never get to experience. I remember reading her post about playing bridge with Omar Sharif. I also read her final post, not realizing it would be her last. I admired her casual way of stating she was preparing for a New Journey. Through my tears, I couldn't write a review and decided to wait...a bad choice. Thank you for posting this update, revealing things about Sarah we did not previously know. This proves that all of us on FS have lives, experiences, and challenges that never make it to the internet. Thanks again for remembering Sarah.

Well, how can I not six this? Sarah sounds like she was a wonderful lady and I am sure she is smiling right now concerning this wonderful tribute to her, Terry.
This site has improved my writing tenfold. But it has also been great therapy. I have written three pieces about things I could barely discuss with my closest family members. Why can't it, and shouldn't it be both.
Just my humble two cents.

I remember reading Sarah's last post and responding to it. I prayed for her, and asked my sister to pray for her, as well. Thank you for letting us know what happened, and your tribute story was lovely and nicely told.
