As always, BEAUTIFUL!!! (and colorful!) When I hear about the last leaf falling, it always brings to mind, "A Tree Grows In Brooklyn."
I don't know how you do it, but you always outdo yourself in presentation. What a Talent!

Jim,
I never heard of the poem, "a tree grows in Brooklyn " are you from New York? I didn't have a poem in mind but a children's story comes to mind.... "the giving tree".
Thank you very much for your excellent review and kind words.

I'm so glad you asked, because my aged mind mixed up two plant movies and stories. "A Tree Grows In Brooklyn" a 1943 novel by Betty Smith, was made into a 1945 film by Elia Kazan in his first directorial job. It shows the resilience of a family growing up in poverty. A plot vehicle is "The Tree Of Heaven" which is dying, then grows and flourishes.
The reference I meant to make was "The Last Leaf", a movie based on an O. Henry story. In it, a creeping vine is outside a girl's window and, in the winter cold, is slowly shedding. She becomes convinced when the last leaf falls off, she will die. There is one leaf left, and she gets well. It turns out aqn old artist neighbor painted that leaf on the windo and made it look realistic. Unfortunately, the cold causes him to develop pneumonia and die. Remember your tissues if you ever see it!

Oh my goodness... what a sad but heartfelt movie. I love movies. My favorite are horror and thriller movies but once in a while I like to watch dramas. Have you seen, "the mountain between us"? It's an excellent movie.
I like the idea of painting the leaf on the window. What a wonderful act of kindness.

I missed that one you mentioned, but now will keep an eye out for it! I am sorry I divulged the storyline. I literally have hundreds of horror movies and thrillers.

There's something about the moon; it will bring out the vampire in a person. so, it howls at night, or it will be a romantic scene of unexpected pleasure. This sexy lady has something on her mind besides a leaf surrendering.

The wording of this poem is extremely graceful, and I loved the way you weaved personification into your story, like how the tree is a "her," and the last remnants of her leaves were shedding. Excellent.

I like how you express the all-surrendering love between the moon and the tree. And sometimes, it really looks like the moon is balancing on a tree limb. Great use of personification!
