That is a great story, Debi. There are many young mothers who have given up a child to adoption. It is always great when siblings can get together later in life.

It's amazing to me that a family can have two such beautiful women (you said she looked like you!) when I was given the "left-overs". I am so glad you reconciled to your "new family member". I made every mistake in the book at college and am grateful The Lord rescued me from that terrible life. I had no discipline, and too much freedom. You are fortunate to have had peace with your mother. I had to await to shortly before her death to reconcile with mine.

Yes, my mom said she prayed every night for him and I asked why she thought she didn't think we would understand. I think she just didn't know.

About ten years ago, his children started contacting him as DNA tests became more widely available and he became close to a number of his children. he said that he has been in touch with at least ten of his children and know that there are more who have not chosen to contact him. So he is now a Dad in his late 60's. LOL.

Wow, Jake, what an amazing story. I knew of guys who did that, but never wanted to know of them after. But I can see why later in life that would be a comfort to them to meet them and know they were ok, but also to see their own child. Cool story, my friend. I am fairly certain that you and I do not share DNA, but you are my sister as much as if we were born of the same set of parents. I love you, I always will. The thing that I know you know for sure is that not all family is found in DNA. Some family is from the heart, the mutual love, respect and desire to please and comfort at times of need or distress. I am fairly certain that you and I do not share DNA, but you are my sister as much as if we were born of the same set of parents. I love you, I always will. There is nothing you can say or do that will ever change that.

Thanks so much, Wendy. I appreciate very much your kind review and comments for my mom's story. Since he found us he has had to say goodbye to mom and two brothers, but we have one brother left.
In so many ways, I relate this to the story of Moses. God led him to the Holy Land, but didn't let him enter. My mom was given a couple visits from the son that she ached for so badly. God gave her a glance of what she had missed for those forty years. Anyway, that is how I look at it.
