Wendy, I couldn't agree more! The statement that jumped off the page for me was "Individualism has reached a peak, and community spirit is at an all-time low." This has certainly been my experience recently. We see it happening at school and in community theatre, where absenteeism from rehearsals and classes is booming. There's only so long we can blame Covid for this ongoing issue. It's time we all put the needs of others, and the need for kindness, more squarely at the centre of our choices and behaviour. Thank you so much for sharing this.

Exactly right. It?s far from the centre of our daily lives these days. And yet, a kindness to another makes one feel good inside. Thank you very much for your thoughtful review. Always appreciated.

How great that it's World Kindness Day. Personally, I think there should be 365 of those, every year. It doesn't take much to be kind and it can change so much for the better. This is well-written and inspiring. Thank you for sharing this here!

Thank you very much Alexandra. Yes, it is not hard to be kind and to practise it daily. Glad you enjoyed it.

Kindness and it's opposite are both features most of us could easily identify but I fancy they might be more difficult to define generally as they are both to some extent subjective and dependent on the thickness of the skin of the recipient.

Yes. You are right, and kindness needs to be genuine and sincere, remembering others sensitivities. Thanks so much for reviewing.

If your commentary is controversial to some, that means they've paid attention to it and, it hurt them, so your point was made.
Everyday should be kindness day, not simply the one marked on the calendar.
Great post. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you John. For a thoughtful and insightful review. We seem to have lost that mindset these days. Many thanks for the six stars and the encouragement.

I love you story and your attitude about kindness being an everyday habit and attitude. I also like your notes. I agree with them. You story is well written and flows nicely. You use descriptive language, and it is easy to understand why you are such a popular author on the site. Kudos!

I haven't enough words to agree with your thoughts
The gospel Teaches to Do
Unto others as you would to ourselves but in today's world It's hard to see anyone else when lives are built with the walls

An awesome commentary, Wendy. My mother was in a church group called Joy. She said it stood for
J - Jesus first
O - others second
Y - yourself last.
This made me think of that. I understand taking care of yourself, but to sully the idea of spreading kindness is dumb. Be kind to others, people and animals. Some will appreciate it, some might not even acknowledge it. But you know it's the right thing to do. Great piece of writing. Gretchen

Thank you very much Gretchen - we also had a little Sunday School song about Joy. "Jesus first, yourself last and others in between". I greatly value the six stars too, many thanks.
