Lovely idea and brilliantly described in your prose here. Your writing gives full voice to friendship, nostalgia, fun and love. Excellent stuff. Thank you for sharing this.

Women are so much better at networking than men, but what you're doing sounds like so much fun, my wife taught at two seperate schools in her litetime at work, they still meet once a month after retirement, it's something to look forward to. Well done, Gretchen, blessings Roy

One of my friends in my group meets with other teachers. All retired and friends. Thank you for sharing. Gretchen

That is such a great idea. Having a small group of friends that regularly meet together to share, do art, and eat sounds like fun and very enjoyable. I wish I had a group like yours. I have a few friends and one time both of them were in the same room visiting with me. It was fantastic! Anyway, I love your idea of having a Friendsgiving instead of or as well as a Thanksgiving.

Didn't meet them until mid fifties but knew them from other areas of life. Thank you for this. Gretchen

How lovely that you have a fine group of diverse friends who all get on with each other and each of you accept the differences in the group. Meetings like this challenge us and also nurture us and I would to be a fly on the wall at one of your meetings Gretchen; a fine post and I loved the togetherness you all feel here, love Dolly x x. x

Thank you, Dolly. There is no subject, with the exception of politics, that is off the table or safe. We keep each other grounded and motivated. Have spend most of my adult life without close friends. Suddenly I'm surrounded. A great feeling. Gretchen

A lovely group of sincere and honest genuine friends for whom you can be very thankful. Such friendships are rare and precious. Whether official of unofficial you all do it very well. Keep it rolling on.

He drained 1900 mL of fluid from left lung and about 1700 from right lung. ( that?s a total of 3.6 litres or 6 pints!) He?s gradually recovering but still in hospital, very weak Thank you very much Gretchen. It means a lot that you remember and ask. I will maybe post one more story when he goes home. I don?t want to bore people with every step. Especially because many have their own health issues to worry about. But thank you so much for caring.

Sounds like a wonderful group to be part of. I'm glad you have people who are "there" for you when you most need it. All of you are lucky to have found each other.

I had never had a group of other artists who support me like this. It's wonderful. Thank you for this nice review. Gretchen

that is a terrific idea! Aren't you a smart cookie.
And how lucky you are to have a"gaggle" of friends. :)
Several of mine have died, recently, so we have dwindled.
You sound like yall have a really good and constructive time. Muy bueno!

Thank you, Katherine. I am very lucky. Hope you are feeling better. Debi M. Pick said you had covid. Don't know if that was recent or not. Gretchen

not recent, but terribly long and debilitating. Fine now, thank you.

This is a fantastic idea. I don't get out enough being blind. My husband keeps telling me to get out more and sometimes just puts me in the car and says, "We're going." I'm happy for you, Gretchen. Keep it up. Sending you my best today as always,

Always good to have a guy like your husband around. Easy to get into a rut. Let him drag you out as often as possible. Thank you for this. Friendsgiving has been around for a number of years. Not my original idea. But I'm planning on using it. Gretchen
Comment from Debbie D'Arcy
This is a lovely account of your friendship with the girls and your plans for these friendsgiving meetings. I personally think there is something special about getting together with a close group of women. We have so much more to talk about, I think, than with men and it generally feels very positive and therapeutic afterwards. Thank you for sharing, Gretchen. Take care Debbie

Thank you so much, Debbie. I think women are less inhibited about baring their souls. Lol. Most men have a safe zone. Things they can talk about. Gretchen

Very, very cool post, indeed. The power of friendship is what separates the okay from the turbulent people of the world. I am convinced this is the case.
I loved this sentence: Lunch is our love language.
Priceless. xoxo
