This essay, The Painted Rock, is well explained and the sense of witnessing a collection of feelings preserved on these rocks is amazing. The addition of the site access brings the bigger picture to sight.

You paint a beautiful scene here as your story highlights the kindnesses and positives of our world. So often, when constantly bombarded with the bad and even the gruesome details of events, we can feel that this is the depressing norm. Your story, however, evocatively evolves from the coloured stones into a message of hope and love. Well done, Wendy! Debbie x

Hello Wendy. This stroll along the river sounds magnificent! I was touched as well by the idea that no negative remarks were made in all the paintings of the rocks lining the shore. This speaks to the positive feelings so many young folks feel as they play outside near the painted rocks.
I love this and would like to see more paintings of rocks in my nation.

I really enjoyed your post Wendy. What a wonderful picture you took here and I zoomed in before I read your words at those rocks as they looked so colourful. Now I know that they have been painted with memories from people's lives I realise how unique and passionate this spot is. In Tenerife there are benches on the sea front along a the beach in Los Cristianos and the local children have painted each bench with a theme. They look very pretty. Your trip sounds so magical and thank you for sharing it with us here Wendy, I enjoyed your descriptions and your heartfelt thoughts about what you've seen, a fine post, love Dolly x x x

Dear Wendy, Some weeks the 'six' stars don't switch on in the UK until later on Sunday - but today voila! they are available while it's still dark outside.
This piece has 6 written all over it. Not only the natural flow of the language, but the fascinating events in the narrative - maybe a 12 would be fairer. I often wish I lived in Austria, among my closest friends and musical colleagues, but then I come back to the beauty of the English countryside and I am torn between. But today's blog made me long to see your country and share the wonderful experiences contained here, in your account.

'Nothing was inconsequential. These were snapshots of people's lives' - a key moment and a summary of the astonishing seawall of boulders, with those thousands of beautiful tributes. That is a memory never to be forgotten, by you - and now by me. What a privilege to read this!

Paul

Thank you very much Paul - I am most delighted to receive six stars for this piece. Your words are so very positive and supportive, and I am happy that you will remember the story of these boulders. Wendy
(However, I hate to disappoint you, but I am way over here in Australia, not Austria.)

No, no - I WAS talking about Austria, where I have a 'second' musical home. (I sang hundreds of concerts in Salzburg) Then I talked about Australia. This is a perennial problem - the most popular tee shirt for tourists in Salzburg has a big kangaroo on the front, with the logo 'No kangaroos in Austria!' Paul

Ah, oh good, I get it. (Someone the other day thought I was in Austria.)
I will share more about my country from time to time so you can have a "virtual experience" of living here.

Thank you, Wendy. If I am ever back there I'm going to get you that tee shirt!

I've had the privilege to view some of the best views in the world in so many different places. It's amazing how many sunsets I've seen, the best one was the sunset at Santorini from the cliffs caused by the massive volcanic explosion many centuries ago, beautifully written Wendy, blessings Roy

That's the kind of graffiti I'd like to see everywhere. Maybe we can start a trend of putting good things on walls and boulders. Wouldn't that be nice? Thank you for sharing this.
