Very nice chapter. Good progress.
Smart ass. "I'll have you know, - Don't you want the quotes before Smart ass?
I knew two things, one Dougie was trying to get financial backing for a get rich quick scheme, and he got money from Missy. - This sentence is difficult. Maybe a semicolon? I think it needs a comma after 'one', not sure. And where's the 'two'?
Best wishes.

Good old Miranda! She's on the trail now, perhaps, with her discovery. Your story speeds on (so to speak!) and we can already see the dare-devil in her. Small edit - "But now it(s) a mute point." Thanks for sharing, Gretchen. Debbie

What is she going to do with the bottles? She won't have any means to examine them forensically. Glad to see m back again. Dougie's death will almost be connected with Missy.

Typos: Pressing the break to pull over (brake)
But now it a mute point (now, it's a moot point)

"Extra Curricula" (I think it should be 'Curricular') details in a first person narrative the morning events of a divorced wife and mother. The chapter tells three stories, and each flows into the next as the narrator reveals her stream of thought. One of the three parts of this story is different and more significant. It is about the disappearance of the man with whom the narrator partnered.
Not one of the three small episodes in this chapter shows contentment or ease.In small ways and large, this narrator struggles.
This rating does not count towards story rating or author rank.

I wonder if poor women like her, would really go looking for a deadbeat ex-boyfriend. I mean, men of that social group are known for running out on women and children. As you've shown (slice realism) people have lives, jobs.

For Miranda, she wants his son to have closure. One way or another. She also likes to investigate. A trailer park Nancy Drew. Lol. Thanks fir this! Gretchen
