This was fun to read. I got a really good laugh out of the last paragraph. You're a quick learner. Our pets seem to think it is there duty to train us and they do a pretty good job of it.

Oh yes, they train us quickly and well! I think I am a soft touch for those pleading brown eyes. If he didn't have quite such a little round tummy I would think he was starving! Thanks so much for a great review.

You are amazing, Wendy. Oh, oh. Just a minute. Sam is here, and he has some input. Hi Sunny. This is Sam. Whisked egg and milk each evening? How did you manage that? I'll pass on the fish, but I'm going to check out the doggie meatballs. It sounds like you are doing okay with begging during mealtime. I put my head right in Paul's lap at mealtime when I'm visiting, but you are probably a little short to do that. Too bad, because it works great. I probably should get more exercise, but I'm getting pretty old and don't get along as well as I use to. It sounds like you live in a really good home. I think I'm going to have a talk with Paul's son and see if he will have a meeting with me. There are a few things I would like to talk about. It's been nice chatting, Sunny. We'll get together again soon.

Good morning Sam. Lovely to have a chat. The way to get an egg for dinner is to refuse to eat for about 36 hours. Then when Paul or Paul Jnr gets worried, you graciously accept an offer of a whisked egg. After that it is simple. You just don't eat your dinner until you have been offered an egg. Then miraculously you have room for both. You are right. I can't reach my Mama's lap. But I use my pleading eyes to good advantage. Sometimes she refuses to look at me, so I lie down facing away from her and sulk. Then she feels guilty so offers me a little something. See how easy it is to train a human? Mine is a soft touch.
Thank you and Paul for the six stars - very generous, and always much appreciated. That will make Mama happy!
Best wishes. Stay well. Paul too.

Haha, I see Sunny has worked through all of the issues now. Oops, I mean you... you have worked through all the issues.

How did you come to realise about the meatball thing, that Sunny just wants to be where you are? Last I recall you were puzzling over that.

I do have to commend you on your trainability. It takes some humans much longer to learn what is expected of them!

Well done, Wendy. I enjoyed this very much.

Craig

Thanks so much Craig. A super review, very positive. I think that is what it is, I can't think of anything else unless general attention seeking, which is what I thought initially because it seemed to start when the girls were here. It's much more occasional now, thank goodness. Although that's perhaps because I try to stay in the kitchen and "supervise" his eating. Lol. Thanks again.

Ah, the reward of being called a quick learner by your dog. That must make you feel proud. Lol. This was fun all the way around. I enjoy all of your writing but the stories about you and your grandchildren and the stories about Sunny are my absolute favorites. Keep them coming. Gretchen

Oh, thank you Gretchen! I have sometimes wondered if people think my family and dog stories are too trivial, and whether people might be getting sick of them. I am so glad you continue to enjoy them. That's very encouraging.

You made me smile with this post Wendy, your dog knows exactly what he wants and how to get it and in return he is loyal and friendly and a pleasure to have around, a fine dialogue exchange here, uplifting and congenial, much enjoyed, a fine post for the club, love Dolly x

First, lose few kilograms? Ugh. It reads different from losing a few pounds. Aren't there pounds in Australia? Like coins, or is the coinage of Britain long gone from Down thar'?
Secondly, I could see me being your pet. Meatballs, tuna and sardines. Yum
Be well.

We haven't had pounds (weight) for nearly fifty years. 1kilogram is 2.2 pounds. And we adopted decimal currency in 1966. So everything here (weight, distance, temperature, currency) follows the metric system, which is clear and consistent, and hence very easy. We like "easy". Thanks for reviewing. And no, you can't be my pet - one is enough! Lol.

Liked your let us get together meeting over Sunni's likes and dislikes. Benny is the same. Rather eat from our table. Doesn't fancy kibble, but will eat it occasionally. Prefers our mince to his meat. So, I don't think they are fussy, only if we make it so. Those eyes say please Mama. K xx

Yes, I got the message all the way through that Sunny was the one in charge here and has all the answers! A lovely story full of doggie character and humour and a great club entry! Well done, Wendy! Debbie
