Having been the parent of rescued animals, I truly enjoyed this poem. I will never forget a rescued cat, who had cancer, dying in my arms with such as peaceful look. Thank you for an enjoyable read!

This poem brought me to tears. The author's words are heartfelt,
descriptive and creative. The poem flows and connects well. As I read
these words I marveled at how beatifically a heart can be changed.
The artwork is awesome and compliments these words well. This is
an exceptionally great poem! Have a great Sunday!....Maria

Absolutely beautiful what you've created here. A lovely tribute to a fabulous dog...and the man whose heart was melted by him. Isn't it so funny the way Fate stepped in to bestow a dog upon your family? A black Irish Setter, though! What a rare dog! I'm glad he found your family and brought such love to you all. xo

What a miracle pup and a handsome from what I can see. It sounds like Rascal was a gift from God for your entire family and especially your husband. Precious poem in rhyming verse. Sending you my best today as always and best wishes for the upcoming contest.

This is a great story. I grew up with dogs, and my wife and I had dogs until we reached an age when dogs might be a tripping hazard. The rhyme and meter are very good.

What a lovely and passionate story. This is a good entry. Good luck to you.

Most kids love pets. Dogs are good companions for them. They develop a bond as your story tells how Rachel protects the children.

Thanks for sharing this wonderful story

A wonderful tale of man and dog. I think pets pick us and it must have been time for the family to own a dog. What a beautiful photo, what was his name?

This poem, Rockpile Rascal, presented with seventeen rhyming couplets, tells a cool story about this really, really rescued pup that became such a great family pet. I understand Dad having the deepest reaction to its passing.

Such a lovely story, we've loved everyone of our 5 dogs, and everyone was/is precious and very loyal, all of them brought something different to the table. And we've had to say farewell to four of them. This is such a wonderful with a well crafted poem, well done, good luck, blessings Roy

Thanks so much for your great review and comments for my story poem for our Rascal. I love that you also had such a great love for all of your dogs. We had four throughout our life, and finally it was too hard to say goodbye, so now I borrow my grands dogs from time to time and I love it.
