You've described a perfect unconditional love. Thank you for sharing.
"Marty," she asked. "Please lay next to me." (not sure there's really a question here.)
He gently lowered himself next to her, (himself beside her)
"Where did the time go Marty? (comma after 'go')
Christmas is almost he (doesn't read like a question)

A very touching and sad write John and although this is fiction, I expect this kind of thing happens to long standing couples all the time. I was with my husband until his final breath, my two daughters were in the room with me. We remained silent as I did not want my husband to be frightened and worried for us, he passed peacefully and it was tranquil, but incredibly sad, love Dolly x

Good one, John. I gave my Mary a rose for every year we were married at our anniversary. We stopped at 57. when she died. Thanks for sharing your talent. Enjoyed it.

Such a tender and intimate story. I've seen couples much like this one gently lean into the oncoming passing of one or the other, with grace and quiet thankfulness. How precious that after 62 years together, love has not only survived but flourished!

This was such a sweet and sad story. I liked how she felt safe in his arms, even while she was dealing with cancer. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

I like your story. How precious that this couple had 62 years together, kept their vows to love and cherish through sickness and health. Forever love, is something that we don't see a lot of today.
