Now we "know the rest of the story." Kenzie's artwork is amazing, and is so fitting for your poem. I do like the whimsical nature of your Merry-Go-Rhyme form. And I am also partial to rhyme, if it is done well. You've included some nice fresh rhymes here. Thanks for sharing. Blessings. Carol

-Beautiful artwork and nice presentation, Debi. She is so talented.
-I appreciate your notes and agree about having lived enough of
the other stuff and looking for the bright sideð???ð???
-I like your idea of joining the carnival next door.
-You have vivid imagery describing the up and down
of the horses, like events in life.
-You always give credit to the person who inspired you
and I think that is important to do, too.
-Thanks for the overview of the Merry-Go-Round poem!

Like you, I'm a rhyming kind of girl. I've tried my hand at free verse and it doesn't work for me. I enjoyed the rhythm and rhyme in this piece as much as I enjoy carousels. Beautiful artwork as well. A talented family indeed!

Kenzie is exceptionally talented. I love the drawing. As to the Merry-go rhyme, I have to say I opened this as I sat at a picnic table by a pond and watched a dog jumping in and out of the water with delight. It was the perfect setting to read this delightful and fun poem.
So well done.
Best wishes,
Mary

First of all, Kenzie is some kind of artist! How old is she? Does she ever sell her art or accept commissions?
As always, your rhyming is terrific and you've used a font size and type that I can read, lol!
Are you talking about Sally Law here?
I like that you turned your merry-go-rhyme into a story of a circus and a merry-go-round. Very appropriate:-)
"I hear bells starts to chime" - should it be bells start?
Thanks for sharing, Debi dear.

Awe, thanks Pam. It was kind of a fun day sharing back and forth between Sally's and mine. We planned that perfectly.
Thanks for catching my typo, as i had tried a few different ways to say something to keep it in meter, make it rhyme and still make sense, sometimes those small things can be missed.
And yes, I am talking about Sally Law and that is why she posted the first Circus poem that she wrote at the same time that I posted this. So that people could see what those were about.
Kenzie does sell her art online someplace but this was just a sketching of a picture I sent her. Most of her art is free hand and from memory, she will be twenty years old next month. You have seen her work on about one third of my posts. She is amazing.
It was nice chatting and I thank you sweet twin for your lovely review and comments.

Love that carousel drawing! She's so talented! And I love that you created your Merry-go-rhyme poetry form by being inspired by Sally! Thank you for giving us the history behind the form!!

And thank you Hon for checking this out . I know I have been using the format for a while, but after everyone kept asking, I thought it was time to answer. It was fun having Sally along with me to introduce hers at the same time.

What a talented granddaughter you have Debi. As you know, or may not know, there little or no tributes to members once, I've been writing birthday poems for years for my wife, offspring and their offspring, friends and the dearly departed. Going on for years now, I think it started with a friend's example. God told me years ago, that gifts are meant to be shared, so it's good to see it happening, well done Debi, great post, blessings Roy
Typo : I hear bells start(s) to chime.

Oops all this time, I've referred to your invented style
as Merry Go Round rather than Merry Go Rhyme, Debi.
So sorry. I know you worked hard to get this form just
right. The art for this one is AWESOME--so professional
in appearance. Your granddaughter did a fantastic job.
You used your form to explain its how to's perfectly.
I enjoyed reading it. Your work on this one and the others
under this form flowed smoothly with great details. Your
directions were clear and easy to understand.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

I have missed seeing you lately. I hope that means that you are getting out and also writing more. ... Thanks too for the six stars that you gifted me again. You are the best!

Kenzie is very talented as are you. The bouncy rhythm in this poem accentuates the content. I like the universal message in stanzas three and four. Also the words about your style as opposed to free verse.

The rhythmic syncopation had a nice balance and I enjoyed the relationship, balance and metaphor between the 2 types of poetry as well as the relationship to life.
