Thank you, Wendy! Enjoyed your humor!
And I think talking to lonely dogs is really a sign of a compassionate person who's young at heart!
Your picture reminded me that my husband wanted a t-shirt with that same phrase! So I ordered it!

Ha ha ha, love the humour here Wendy and I can identify with some of these ailments, but I don't take any pills so I don't need a container! Ha ha ha, I can't wear really tall shoes anymore thought, but I do wear a small heel. Being considered a senior is the mark of old age and I often hate that word! Love Dolly x

Thank you Dolly for a super review. Glad you enjoyed it. I always wore a small heel, so that part of growing older was difficult.

These instances listed, and many others that may come along, all are STRONG indicators one is growing old...something I never thought I would ever do.

Time tells a much different tale though, doesn't it?

Oh well, all one can do is hang in there and get through each situation they encounter the best way they can. Advanced ages, and health issues, dictate that is all one can do.

A great piece. I love your humor. A pill box as a sign of old age. That' funny. I love that you stop to talk to lonely dogs and that you count your blessings. I want you as my neighbor!

Lol. Thank you, Shari. I have never been a nosy neighbour before but these poor lonely dogs are desperate for company. Ah well, I must be a bit crazy.

I liked the little wink at the ending.

Growing old is the pits. I remember feeling it at 30, when I worked at a college. The other people I worked with were going to the college, so I was an 'old lady'.

Great job on this! Your points are clear and concise. The essay is very focused.

It?s all relative. When I take my dog to the Aged Care facility for Therapy Dog visits, I look and feel very young! I am pleased you commented on the writing, as that is helpful feedback. Thank you very much for reviewing.

This caused me to smile. I first thought I might be old when I went to the military shopping center and saw the young soldiers and instead of thinking, "Hmm, he's hot." I thought, "He's too young to be a soldier, he needs to be home with his Momma a few more years." Then talking with my oldest son, he's 45 years old, he's now retired Army. He said, "Mom, I'm getting old. I was playing basketball with my young troops and couldn't hang with them anymore." I asked, "Greg, if you're old, what does that make me?" He answered, "Really old, Mom." I guess I'm really old. LOL Thank you for sharing.

Lol you made me laugh! The best way for me to feel young is to take Sunny to the Aged Care home! It?s all relative. Thanks so much for your fun review. Wendy

This was very well done in accounting for some of the problems of aging. My least favorite phrase from doctors in the last 20 years is "At your age."
One that really surprised me was when I noticed my eyebrows were gone!
So now, I just pencil them on. Since my parents both had arthritis, I expected - but not welcomed it. Back when "getting old" had just started, I had carpal tunnel surgery in both wrists, shoulder surgery, back surgery, and both hips replaced. My hair is still brown on top, but white underneath, coming out in various places as some streaks. I have more problems added now, but I'm so thankful for the blessings I have.

Thanks so much for your super review. That?s a lot of surgeries! Most of mine gave been deep skin cancers from excessive sun exposure as a teen. I have nothing to complain about, but it is at times hard to realise I really am quite old, in years, in most people?s eyes. My hair is still dark brown but a few silver threads are coming through now.

I had to read your story and the humor in it very much. I went to my retinologist and he told me that iser like that of an old truck. He was not my regular retinologist so when I told my regular right now just that I would never go back to that other one he kind of laughed and said that's the way it is with them of us. I just did not like being referred to as an old truck. Patricia

If you believe you are there, and I am, you are not alone. A week ago Tuesday, I fell. My fault. We have a bridge o the golf course where the super decided to put a low hanging chain. I knew it but on that day two ducks were cavorting below so instead of stepping over the chain I tumbled to the floor. Dang that hurt. My knee was bruised, black and blue still after eleven days, shoulder bruised and sore as h... I am old, and I know it.
Question: Whenever I select a cursive font, the bottom of the droopy letters disappears. Any fixes you know of? I see they don't with this submission.

I am so sorry to hear about your fall. That sounds very painful. I hope you heal quickly.
I used Times New Roman and made it Italic. I don?t know how to fix the cursive issue.
That?s why I don?t use cursive fonts. I think they are a bit hard to read for anyone with poor vision.
Thanks so much for reviewing a piece by a "crazy old lady"
The body might be getting older but we still feel the same inside don?t we?

    ??? Feel the same inside???
Two appliances in the knees, separated shoulder, a leaky kidney (urination problem - not serious)
    Answer: Maybe.

Sorry, I'm out of sixes (I think you got most of them). You burst my bubble with this article. I didn't think I was that old until I read it. Eighty, next year. Now that might be old. I ended up in the ER a couple of days ago. My heart was acting up again. Maybe seventy-nine is old. Cataract surgery coming up in a few years. Just found out, yesterday, that I'm going to be a great grandfather in November. I guess Sam and I are old.

I think the saying is that "old" is always ten years away from where you are. I am sorry to hear about your heart though! Tell it to hang in there, you're not that old. Another ten years! What are they going to do for your heart? By-pass, pace-maker?
Congratulations on becoming a great grandfather! (My sister was a great-grandmother when she was about 60 or so so don't let that make you feel old.) I'm now 72!! Can't believe it. The thing is while our bodies may be wearing out a bit, we still feel the same inside, and certainly not yet ready to be "old"!
Thank you for a super review (although now I am feeling a bit anxious about your heart!)

I'll probably be fine. I've had two heart attacks previously. I had two stents put in, and I've been active since then. I've got another appointment coming up to decide what can be done this time.

I'll keep you in my prayers, also your doctors that they will have much wisdom.
