powerful and moving poem about grief and losing one's sibling. It is particularly harder if you get along, I don't get along with my siblings and if one of them died, well I would grieve but perhaps not as much as if we had a real sibling relationship

I believe you shared some great advice. I myself must listen to your words and move beyond grief and recognize that it is OK to keep that sense of loss with you. Thanks

This is a beautiful poem, and I loved how your comments mentioned you were comforted. In the past six years, my two brothers and a sister have left me to be the last one. I am comforted by my memories of our times together.

I'm so sorry for your losses. Thank you for sharing that with me. I come from four, as well... We are very close in age- and very close! I still have my brother and my other sister. My heart and prayers go out to you. Xoxo

Your well chosen words made me feel your grief. I've never lost a sister, but I've experienced loss. Your description of how you feel and deal with the acceptance of loss is encouraging and inspirational to others. Your smooth flowing rhymes make reading about loss more calming.

This is a very well written, yet extremely sad, poem. My best friend lost her daughter on the daughter's 18th birthday, and I lost my husband of twenty one years about 3 years ago. Your poem does a great job of expressing your feelings about losing your sister. I hope writing helps you.

There is no time-line to grief. It is beyond time and beyond reason. But though it is always there, it gradually fades, allowing you to continue to live. I feel for you in your loss - I have been there, losing my brother too young ten years ago. kay

I'm very sorry for your loss, Jessica. Everybody handles death a little differently. When young people die, it is harder to deal with. Your poem is a really good tribute to your sister.

Jessica, this is deserving of six stars but I'm out of them. You have certainly experienced a tremendous amount of loss in your life. You are tremendously talented at capturing the pain of those losses in words. Stay well. Keep writing.

This is a heartbreaking revelation you received when you viewed the video of Billy Bob Thorton that so inspired you to write and get over your grief and try to move on!
I am impressed with your candid revelations about your sister, Kelly who passed away when she was young.
You have developed coping skills that help you to get over the grief and move on with your life.
Thanks for sharing this inspirational poem.
