Loved how you incorporated the details of that picture to portray a mental and spiritual journey of a soul. I like the focus on the single obelisk that puts everything in perspective. That's what it's like when we put our faith in God and then all the storms of life with its "stewing and brewing" calm in that "personal dawning."

Gorgeous poem. You've made the first person work very well here.
I love it when you compare the outcroppings to metaphors.
And I wonder... what is there time for?
Lovely picture as well.
Thanks for sharing.

It sometimes takes a lot of pondering and considering, before one's perception touches something we've never touched before. There is another realm of understanding which has struck me in so many ways in a ever widening kaleidoscopic vista, beautifully written Jim, well done, blessings Roy

Very nice free verse. You kept me interested the whole time. Your words must have been chosen very carefully and everything falls into place...I only hope it's true...

The artwork, Wander above the Sea, is an excellent visual for your poem. Your imagery and the story you tell are very well-written. I think you have a good entry for this club prompt. Excellent work. Terry.

Hello, JLR
Moving and emotive.
I sense much uncertainty and unsettled emotions until the very last last stanza where there is a "ray of hope." Let us all hope that "there is time."
Thank you for sharing!

Hi Jim,
This is a good answer to the picture this challenge. This poem uses metaphor to show introspection of your past as you find hope for the future.
Keep writing and stay healthy

There is time, sadly keeps some from doing what they should do while there is time. I will soon be 85 and I know many in their 70's who are regretting that they did not use their time to do things and learn new skills. If one want to write, then I say write. If one want to paint, then I say paint. Time will come to an end and if we have not done what we wanted to do, then we will have regrets.

Patrica you are so correct! I started throwing ours when I retired at seventy, should have started when I was fifty. I love it!

I am thinking of making us a post For the website.
