What a fascinating read about Secretariat! He was such a great athlete - I still don't think another horse has come close. Your carousel horse story was very touching. Thank you for your poetic prose.

    Thank you so much, Chris.
I really appreciate the 5 stars.
    Secretariat was such an
    amazing horse. He is an
    equine legend. I'm so glad
    You like this prose story.
    Many blessings to you. ~

I liked reading this. I agree with you that the dignity of horses ought to be maintained. There were no major fixes I could see except that when you introduced Snow Princess, I think it did NOT need to be in quotation marks. Hopefully many of us have seen the movies which have been made about Secretariat, but I had not heard of Snow Princess.

    I loved writing this prose.
I used to be an equestrienne
    until life obligations needed
more of my time. I really

This is very beautiful and very well written for the Regarding Horses contest. You used very good descriptive words and very nice imagery. It is a nice thought to think we will see all our animals when we get to Heaven. Best wishes in the contest. Blessings, Teri

Probably our greatest racehorse was a horse called Phar Lap, he was a champion horse during the depression years, a favourite with race goers, his heart is on display too, a huge heart, he was called 'Big Red', forty years before Secretariat was. Beautifully written, blessings Roy

Thank you so much, Roy. I
think I have heard of Phar Lap, and Seabiscuit too. I
    watched the Seabiscuit and
    Secretariat movies that were
    phenomenal, brought tears
    to my eyes. Congratulations
    on remaining a top 10
    Fanstory poet, not an easy
    feat. Thank you for the
    generous 5 stars. Many
    blessings to you & yours.

The first time I saw Secretariat on television, I knew he was a winner. I tried to convince my then husband that we should put money on him because I just knew, but he said no, it was just throwing money away. I don't often have the sense that something is absolutely going to happen, but when I do, it does. I was so mad at my husband when Secretariat won the triple crown. Oh well, that's the way it goes, sometimes.

    Thank you so much, Mary!
    You must have a special
    intuition. Secretariat was a
great horse, a one in a
Millennium. I really appreciate the 5 star review.
I hope your pen flows in
    much creativity always.
    Blessings ~
