This is beautiful, I can see why it won the contest. You present a lovely image and while I'm not particularly religious, I can understand the impact such a sight would make. Thanks for sharing.

It is easy to see why this won the contest. It is magnificently beautiful. I enjoyed the images and the sweet metaphor, and I have always loved lilies too, so thank you for this lovely experience. Congratulations for the win. MM

The poem is just beautiful as well the flower! Thank you for the author's
notes - they bring back so many memories for me. The author's words
are descriptive, meaningful and creative. The artwork is awesome and
compliments both the theme and words of this poem.

Thank you so very much,
harmony. I'm so pleased this
poem has resonated with a
lot of people, both Catholic
and non-Catholic. The central
theme is Jesus Christ with
His, "lilies", receiving the
Communion. I hope you have
a creative and blessed Wednesday. ~

Thank you, Regina, I thought about
my First Communion and what a special day it was.
Have a great rest of week....Maria
Comment from Gloria ....
This is a stellar poem. Excellent use of literary devices to draw forth the image of communion with the girls as white lilies.
Presentation is refined and my only suggestion is to increase the font size.
Well, well done and many congratulations on your win.

"Lillies of lucent light" is just so gorgeously descriptive and beautiful in alliteration! What a divine title and concept for describing a first Holy Communion. You created a serene tone and setting as you captured the youthful innocence and purity that marks this occasion. Congratulations on the win and for your fine poem.

This is a wonderful representation of one of the most sacred rituals of Christianity.
I think that your descriptive words really brought it to life.
Very enjoyable work. Thank you for sharing.

Regina,
I'm so sorry I am late in reviewing this wonderful poem.
I am Catholic, and remember my First Holy Communion in 1964.
Your words about innocence (being in God's hands) are
Beautiful and flow into a spiritual theme.
Congratulations on your number 1 winner of this contest.
It is truly deserving.
Blessings, and hugs Regina,
Cindy

you have memories of your
First Holy Communion too.
I love writing about my
childhood memories and
am so pleased to be
poetry friends with some other

The idea of you remembering your first communion is wonderful. I also remember mine; it was an occasion where you could wear your best clothes and you felt wonderful as you walk up to the altar. God was watching.

A beautiful flower to be the star in your poem. Important in literature and culture, in beautiful shades and colours.
-Writer has crafted a lovely children's poem, with the magic, allure and promise of first communion.
A lovely poem. A joy to read. All the best.
