Chris, you completely understand how much love a grandma has for their grandkids. There is something so special about that first born baby girl.
Amali is such a beautiful name. Is she the oldest too. McKenzie just turned 19 so they are only a year apart. What a special age as they start to show the maturity and how much they appreciate their grandmas. Thank you Chris for your lovely words and your kind well wishes. I truly appreciate it my sweet friend!

Yes She is the oldest and a lovely girl
I have 5 grandaughters aged
17. 15. 13 12 ( daughters) and my sons first who is 18 months
So it has been such fun watching them all grow and now to watch the baby grow also
So many special times shared
They are all gorgeous
XxChris

Your poem to your granddaughter is heartfelt and loving. Where does the time go? I wasn't blessed with grandchildren, but I have a loving adult daughter and son-in-law, and a caring husband of over 50 years. Either way, time zooms by.
My dear friend, I was so sorry to read from Gary's post that you're dealing with Covid. Prayer works, and my prayers are with you.

Hi Debi,
This poem of abab quatrains depict the strong relationship between you and your daughter. It shows that she is independent and yet still needs her mother at times. As it should be. The picture looks like a professional one. Almost like a senior picture from high school.
I hope you get well soon.
Keep writing.

Thanks Joan, Kenzie is my granddaughter and yes it is her grad picture, since she just graduated in 2021. I had her as a child everyday as a favor to my daughter who hated the thought of sending her to a daycare. And because my daughter traveled so much for work, it seemed like she lived here. Thanks my dear friend for your well wishes and your kind words for my poem

You?re welcome, Debi. Sorry about the mix up.

My granddaughter is now 20 (grandson, almost 16). Like you, I wonder where the time went. I helped raise them; I have vivid memories much like those you've described. Great use of specific details

Hi Janice, sounds like you feel every bit as much for your granddaughter, and your grandson as I do for all my grandkids. However Kenzie has a special place in my heart cause she is the oldest. Yet I love them all equally. Do you have just the two? Kenz is 19 but my other girl is sixteen. And six all together. Not sure what I'd ever do w/o them. Thank you for your kind comments my dear friend.

I have just two. I thank God for them.

Lovely poem dedicated from mother to daughter. I imagine many pictures scanned through your mind as you pondered and wrote these verses. A poem which shows the limitless connection between mother and daughter. Words sprinkled throughout giving a very endearing quality. Best

There is no love greater than that of a mother. The love for your daughter is present throughout, and it is immensely touching. Just reading this makes me want to call my own mother. Exceptional poem worthy of more than 6 stars.

Rachel, you are so very sweet. Actually Kenzie is my granddaughter, but she was with me so much that it felt like she was my daughter. I so appreciate your lovely words for my poem for her and for the gracious gift of six stars.
I thank you again my friend!

I love the emotions put forth in this poem. You do the end-rhymes well, but the meter is off a bit within the stanzas. I would have liked a more iambic pentameter. But great sentiment here, and what a beautiful girl!

Thanks Carol, this was not especially meant to show meter, which is what I usually try to stay right to the syllable count. But was a little bit of Sally's Circus and a little bit of my story type poem. I wrote it a few years ago for my granddaughter and maybe should have edited it or explained it. I treasure your feedback and your friendship Carol. So thank you for reminding me of some edits needed. Much appreciated, my friend.

Thank you for sharing Kenzie Jo with us. My oldest granddaughter turned 19 last month. I wondered the same thing; how did she grow up so fast. I have two grandsons older by a few years. AriAnna and I were and still are very close. I'm praying for you and your family.

Oh Barb, you are always so sweet and I absolutely love your granddaughters's name, AriAnna. That is beautiful, and they are almost the same age. McKenzie turned 19 in July and graduated in 2021. However I had a grandson born in Sept, six weeks later so he graduated in 2022.
I thank you for your lovely comments for her poem and I truly appreciate your prayers, my very dear friend.

The special relationship that exists between a parent and a beloved child is purely magical. It has restorative powers, can lift you when it is mutually shared, can destroy you if it is ever damaged. Your story poem was so sweet I, an old crusty grandpa, got a little teary eyed from just reading it and absorbing the sentiment.

Thank you so much Nomi, and actually Kenzie is my granddaughter, but we spent so much time together that she felt a daughter to me. You my sweet friend are not a crusty old grandpa. You are a wonderful and sweet man who means the world to me. I am so blessed by you and your friendship and I can't thank you enough for all your kind words. Thanks again my dear friend!
