Hello author, whoever is going to show up for a fight should surrender now. Good format and humor. Well-chosen artwork. As this is a writing prompt entry, I wish you good luck. LateBloomer

Thank you Margaret! I tried to show that it was just a couple ways of looking at it. Thanks for the encouraging words my dear friend and SOTU.

I saw the sign and thought Jesus was appearing live and in person in a parking lot. Didn't realize it was fight club!
A fun poem to go with one of the many signs we see and scratch our head about.

In my opinion, certainly a humorous view of a potentially serious issue, which I found clever and warming. Jesus was, after all human, for 33 years, and I am certain found occasions to laugh. I believe He would enjoy this and actually appear, to 'bless' his antagonist. Best wishes in the contest with this amusing piece...

The first two lines of this poem flow and connect well. The last line says it all! I ponder on the last line and reassured Jesus would win yet go about
it in a profound way. Maybe to teach a lesson. The artwork is awesome and compliments these words. Have a great Sunday!

LOL! What a brilliant, funny sign! I wonder if the person that put them there is aware of how it reads. Of course we know who'll win! I loved this one, and wish you the best of luck in the contest. :)) Sandra xx

Thanks so much Sandra. I am a sign watcher, whether it be on the road driving or on the internet. Some are really a hoot. I have one that says,
'Autocorrect is my worst enema.' Thanks for the fun review and comments my friend!

Now that's a church sign worth filming, but not the ensuing fist-a-cuffs, if they came to be. Satan can attest of that. Must be horrible to know that for all the damage he causes, after all is said and done, it won't change a thing for him.

I like your sense of humor. I always read signs and go off course with then. I'm sure Jesus would chuckle at that one. Very fun and love the last line.

This 5-7-5 contest entry made me chuckle. It reminded me of kids in school itching for a fight after school. The syllable count is on point. The text is large and easy to read. The visual fits perfectly. It adds to the humor of the poem. Good luck in the contest.

Thanks so much Sandra, for having some fun with me on this one. I truly was hoping that it didn't seem disrespectful to our Savior, but would like to think that Jesus has a sense of humor too. Thanks again my friend!
-
You are welcome. It's not disrespectful. God made ALL things including laughter and humor.
Comment from Jannypan (Jan)
Your contest entry fits with the image perfectly, Mystery Author.
Your syllable count is correct. The individual who posted the sign
wasn't thinking how it could be interpreted. There is a very small
chance it was done on purpose. On the other hand, that sounds
really strange on my part. The sign is funny in a weird way. I would
like to see a follow up next week to the sign in a more positive way.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes in the contest, Jan

Oh Jan, I would be the last person to ever disrespect my Lord and Savior!
At first it felt kinda strange to me too, but I am always looking at sign humor and thought it was cute how it could be interpreted two different ways.
Maybe my title should be changed. I truly don't want it to seem disrespectful.
-
No, no, no. It isn't disrespectful. What if the church was advertising a revival on the grounds? Leave it as is. I hope I didn't come across as putting it down to being disrespectful.
-
Thank you Jan. I was about ready to disclose my identity to you by pm because I do trust your opinion and values.
-
🙏 I don't believe anyone should take this as anything but a comment on something 'written' by someone else where it's on public view. I knew it wasn't your belief--it's a comment. And yes, Jesus would win.

The people who designed that sign didn't think of how it sounded, but you did. Your contest entry is quite clever. You never challenge Jesus. He may show up as the Trinity. Like your poem said, "We know who will win." Best wishes in the contest.

Absolutely! I hope everyone realizes that I meant no disrespect to my Lord and Savior. I think that's why I love sign humor so much. It can always be interpreted a couple different ways. Thanks for your kind comments!
