This is beautiful, Barbara. An enjoyable piece. We need to realize, as you have, that each day is a gift given and should never be taken for granted. I wish you well always. Best, JohnC

This poem, Hourglass, captures the angst felt as the world seems to be in turmoil. The thing to remember is that the world is like this all the time, we just have more coverage and drastic opinions than before. Hope you are well, LP.

There was a lot of feeling linked with this. It stayed with me as I read this poem. The last line was the over-flow of emotion but also the release of it. Very creative.

Feeling sad for you and for your country. Hold onto your faith that God is in control, and He allows rulers their time - but soon He will establish His own rule of peace and righteousness. Nothing that happens is unknown to Him. Written with much meaning and distress, well expressed.

Hello Barbara, your poem is beautifully penned. I can feel your anguish as well as your joy and thankfulness to Our Lord, Our Savior.
I especially liked:
He is also kind
knowing when our pain
Becomes too much
(B, indeed, He knows when our pain is too much. That's when He comes and rescues us from the world, others, or ourselves. He knows best, and He has an unique plan for each of us.)
Well chosen artwork. A pleasure to read. Keep the blue waters flowing. LateBloomer

nice poem about faith, in the midst of so much death and suffering all around us. I would have focused on COVID deaths or perhaps guns deaths but that's just me. It is perfect the way you ended it with a tribute to your Christian faith.

Yes our smiles cover the pain deep inside. Our minds has to stay strong to keep us going. Living in physical and emotional pain is not easy at times.
We have to keep on going. Life has so many changes. One day we are fine, the next we are stressed. It is like a roller coaster. Up and down. Thank you for sharing.

It is disheartening when those around us pass - constant reminder of our own mortality. The sands of time are indeed running out. But I do believe that there is still joy in the morning when we live to see another day. I try to count my blessings - and instead of counting time at this point, I make my time count. I enjoyed your thoughtful poem. Thank you for sharing.

I found the author's words sad, heartfelt, clear, descriptive and creative.
As I read these words faith shined through the pain. The poem flows
and connects well. The artwork is perfect for both the theme and words
of this poem. May you stay well and be safe.....Maria

Hi again Barbara, you are right about our days being numbered. Reminds me of a song I sang for our church congregation, "Further Along."
The only thing we can look at that "They" are doing to our beautiful country is that "They" are also doing it to themselves.
The general public is sick of inflation and the high gas prices, and ready for a change.
November elections are only 90-some days away, and we are going to kick ass!
Pelosi will be one of the first to fall, I believe she will just retire.
Schiff and Schumer will be close behind.
A "Reckoning" is coming!

"They," think they are beyond consequences. I always wonder where they think they and their money can hide. Stupid ass aren't smart enough to figure that out. God Bless you and yours, irish. Barbara
