I'm so sorry for your loss. With the horrible news daily, I'm almost waiting for some tragedy to strike my family. You've poetically captured what so many of us are thinking and feeling. There was a time when people understood right from wrong... Regards, Lilly

Janet,
This is a tragedy that touches every heart on the deepest level. We all know death is part of life and from the moment we arrive we are on our way home, from whence we came. But ...
Some questions seemingly have no answers. Pain like that doesn't go away - not easily, not for a long time - perhaps never, but I trust that in time, something new and good and meaningful will be seen arising from such sadness. Only through the Love that passes all understanding, is it even possible to hope for such.
"When it is dark enough, you can see the stars. Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Janet, This is a very well written, but heart-breaking poem about loss of someone you knew. He was so young and had family probably that loved him very much. Not much makes sense in this day and time. Thank you for sharing! love and blessings, Teri

I agree with your words here Janet, revenge and anger is evident on the streets and these tragedies are occurring much too often and it is so very sad. Your words are gentle and sensitive yet your message is powerful and honest, a finely rhymed and metered write speaking of today's society, love. Dolly x

This is a beautifully written poem. It has a great flow and rhyme scheme. Beautiful photo choice to compliment your words and nice overall presentation. Nicely done.

The author's words are heartfelt, sad, upsetting, descriptive and creative.
Yet as I approached the end of this poem I found it to be encouraging,
comforting and the answer to our prayers. I pondered on this poem and
thought about how each day is a gift. The artwork is lovely and goes well with this poem. I am sorry for your loss.....Sincerely, Maria

Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your
friend, Janet. I agree, It's difficult to know what's in the head
of people when something like this happens. You did a great
job with your poem--smooth flow, good rhymes, and a great
message.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

My heart goes out, and there are a lot worse ways in life than writing to find ways to understand. I'd love to say there is a reason for all things, but I'm probably the last one to ask. I enjoyed your poem and wish you well.

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend and his family. I am not sure why you mention the "mold of radicals." Did he die a violent death? I don't understand all this senseless violence. But God does understand all our griefs. I appreciate that you mention the Lord's death which redeemed us all. Thanks for sharing in your lovely poem.

Thank you for your kind and encouraging review. I appreciate your thoughtful response to this tragedy. The family still has not shared how he died. Regardless, it is a senseless death, especially to his family.

It does feel as though we've moved away from the days of respecting our elders and believing in the pent up wisdom of age. Social media and globalised information has empowered the youth like never before, but of course they don't have the wisdom to wield that power effectively.

I thought your poem was effective and melancholy.
