I noticed your use of the "ticking clock" to keep the suspense at a high while Margot balances a love affair with undercutting Meg's murder with Bessie's help. Now there will be a tension of another sort at "Meg's" birthday bash because you and I both know that it's not going to go smoothly.
Beautiful job, Sandra!

I'd not heard of the 'ticking clock' so checked it out, what a dumbo I am!! Yes, it describes the way I'm writing this perfectly. Hmm, I hope it's okay to do that.
Thank you so much for the lovely review, Jay, and the golden star! I been looking for your next part, are you not posting this week? I do enjoy my 'Fanny fix' each week.
Warm hugs, my friend. Sandra xxx

sandramitchell this chapter in your book The Return
Once I got so involved reading your excellent story.
I'm wondering if I missed reading your previous chapters
This chapter (22) is written with the characters and how you describe them are well visioned.
Now I'm asking you are there any chapter I should read?.
From what I read so far I want to continue.
Gert.

Hello, Gert, how lovely of you to read chapter 22, and give it such a nice review. The golden star is the cherry on top. The gist of the story is in the character list, which gives you an idea of the plot. I do hope you want to read more, thank you, my dear friend. Warm hugs, Sandra xxx

This was an excellent chapter filled with great details and
action, Sandra. I like the description of the beautiful dress
and hairstyle Margot wore. It's a great contrast to some of
the other ominous actions/activates of some of the characters.
It seemed Miles wasn't sure he believed her about how she
came to have the letter. Ham, could he know something?
Well, there seems to be someone in the club who has been
paid off to spy for Miles' father--maybe the bartender.
Bessie saved the day when she told Margot not to let Miles
confront Mr. Cranky. The way you wrote about Lord Crawley
clutching his heart was accurate from what I know about hemlock
and how it works--like a heart attack. The last words of Lord
set up an intriguing course of action--to find out who/what
happened. I believe Bessie is right about something will
happen tonight.
Super job, Jan

Thank you so very much for another of your lovely reviews, dear Jan, you are always so thorough and I really appreciate them. I'm so pleased you are still enjoying the chapters. Now to find out who is planning to murder Meg. Thank you, my dear friend, for the sixth star and the encouraging review. Love and hugs, Sandra xxx

Hi Sandra, so the plot thickens. I can't wait for the ball. She will take the breath away from most of them. Something is definitely going to happen. I can't wait. Especially as we know what has gone before. Hugs, Ulla xxx

Wow! What an episode, lots going on here, I love the exchange between Lord Brandon and his son, sounds a little like some fathers in my day, the confrontational approach between parent and child. But I wonder if the past has been changed a little. I would love to travel back in time. Superbly written friend Sandra, blessings Roy

I can remember my father telling me how strict his father was. I remember him being a grandfather who demanded respect and good manners. But I don't remember having any fun times with him, not like I did with my mother's father. I could twist him around my little pinky! lol. Thank you so much for this lovely review, Roy. If you find a way to go back in time, get in touch with me immediately!! Lol. Thanks, my friend, warm hugs, Sandra xxx

-An excellent chapter, Sandra. I read it earlier but didn't have a chance to review.
-The opening section is pleasant as the day begins.
-But there is also a reminder that there isn't a lot of time.
-I am hoping the letter is something Miles can take care of easily, and I am very glad Margot gave it to him!
-But Bessie is very definite about Miles not going to Crankston's office!
-Poor Margot has a lot to take care of. I think Bessie should just step in, and take care of it!!
-Luckily, Miles agreed about not going to see Crankston.
-The joyful mood returns, but doesn't last long, and Miles's father treats him like a disobedient child.
-The ending section is excellent as it pulls on many emotions from concerns and worries to the party and Margot looking beautiful, and Bessie's being there, too. I am very glad of that, as well.
-I will be very interesting to see what happens, esp. since we know Gwendolyn had her father killed!!
-Well done, my friend.

Thank you so much, Pam, for this really wonderful review, it means a lot to me.
There isn't much time left for Margot and Bessie to discover who plans to murder Meg. They'd better get a move on!!
I'm really pleased you enjoyed this chapter, it was fun to write. Thank you, dear friend, for the golden star. Love and hugs, Sandra xxx

You are very welcome and deserving of the stars and review, Sandra. I think they better get a move on, too! I am glad the review was meaningful to you! The chapter was excellent!!

A very well made chapter. Good confrontation. The brief argument between Lord Brandon and Miles made perfect sense, right down to the go-to threat.
'No. I haven't the slightest idea. But when I do find out, I can assure you, that person will live to regret it!'
- Why did he lie?

Oh my word, thank you so much for noticing that. 'Why did he lie...
I put the wrong name there. This is how it was meant to read, and does now...
?So, do you have any idea how Lord Crawley found out? Someone must have told him before he had words with your father.?
Thank you, Lancellot, for this really helpful review and for the golden star! If I could nominate you for the reviewers award, I would, but I don't have any left. So thank you, my friend. Warm hugs, Sandra xxx

What a fabulous continuation chapter, Sandra. Poor Lord Brandon, he definitely got his come-up-pence from Miles. He was truly upset that Richard had spoken out of terms about Meg/Margot and Miles. I think Bessie was spot on - when she muttered that she thought something was going to happen tonight. Blessings, smiles n hugs!

It sounds like she will be the Belle of the Ball at the party.
Miles has gone quits with his mean old father. What makes parents think they can pick their children's spouse? Can't they remember when they were young? How about the Golden Rule? lol. That hairstyle sounds just Gorgeous. Great imagery!

I know, I couldn't live like that, have my father choose my husband. But it still happens in some cultures. The hairstyle, the length of your hair could easily be done that way. How long is it? I've seen the plait in your picture, it looks really long. I've always wanted long hair, but it never grew. I can have a trim once a year, and it will only have grow half an inch! :(
Thank you so much for the golden star, Nancy, and another of your fabulous reviews. I really appreciate your comments. Love and hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xx
