Your club entry read well, JLR. I liked the story in a poem
of the ship being readied to leave port, then making its run.
Your words were descriptive with smooth flow. I like the
may sailing terms used. Thanks for the notes--I knew most
of them.
Respectfully, Jan

I have been on boats as a passenger, but your beautifully written writing prompt entry made me feel as part of the crew. Thank you not only for sharing this poem but for the author's notes explaining what I was reading. I appreciate that.

Although I am not now, nor have I ever been a seafaring man, I could see myself on that boat and feeling what these men no doubt felt as they began the next leg of their seafaring journey. Well written, and very well described.

A nicely written free verse my friend, you've done a good job with this, as you always do my friend, a classically written account of a crew after two weeks leave ashore are keen to get on their way. Beautifully written, blessing Roy,

A very well-written free verse poem. I truly enjoyed the image presented and how detailed the ship, its crew at work, and its captain going out to sea were.
Clever and creative writing.
Best wishes,
Mary

This is an enchanting free verse that tackles head-one the historical maritime world bravely, in the way the mariners used to tacle life at sea. Great read. Kate xx

I was about to jump this poem because I'm not into boats. I'm glad I didn't.
You paint a very vivid image of what's going on. However, what I loved the most is how you described the sailors' love for the see as opposed the the wives' suffering. It's something I've always wondered about.
Brilliant. Thanks.

JLR,
This is a very lucky ship to have such a wise captain to always keep them from danger. I think the dolphins at the beginning of this voyage is a good sign that this will be a safe voyage too.
Nicely done free verse that fits the picture well.
Keep writing and stay heatlhy
