Hello damommy, Yvonne, your poem is beautifully penned in soft images of spring. I especially liked:
It won't be long 'til baby birds
will try their wings in flight,
(Yes, Elmer Spirit will be leaving the nest real soon.)
Well chosen photo. Silky rhyming. A pleasure to read. This poem made me smile. It's so good to see you back in print again. LateBloomer ~ Margaret

Thank you. I'm so glad it made you smile. Yes, I was thinking of Elmer Spirit. She's getting close. I hope I don't miss her first take-off.

Hello Yvonne,
so glad to see that you are posting again. I love the month of May. It's just so refreshing. The leaves start to show, the ice melts off the lakes, flowers start popping up. It's just a delightful month all the way around. Thanks for sharing.
Have a blessed evening.

Thank you, Tom. I love May, too, but dread the brutal summer with the awful humidity. I don't imagine it gets very hot where you are.

Hello Yvonne,
I suppose everything is relative. We had several years in Southeast when day after day it was sunny (not good in a rainforest) and the temps were intolerable, hovering around 80 degrees for days. Jan and I were outside on the back deck enjoying the spring sun and were quite comfortable at around 60 degrees. It gets up to 80 here in Wasilla, but it's much drier and often there is a breeze. Every place has it's benefits and deficits I suppose.
Hope your day is going well.
Blessings
Tom

And a merry month of May to you too, Yvonne. So good to see you back, and with such a finely rhymed and metred poem too.
Wishing you great luck in the contest with all the surprises of spring.
Much enjoyed. :)

Thank you for celebrating May and giving us all the sights of "newborn buds" and the sounds of the whippoorwills' songs. I don't think we have those birds here. Best wishes in the contest!

What a fun way to begin the merry merry month of May, Yvonne.
Your poem is awesome. I love the beautiful image, the alliteration
of m and w. Your rhymes are super. I could see everything you
mentioned as I read--love the line about the baby birds. I like
the 86 meter you used, too. Your poem sounds like you are
speaking to readers and telling them all the great things about
May. Awesome to see you back on FS. Thanks for participating.
Best wishes in the contest.
Respectfully, Jan

Thank you for this great review, and for posting the contest. It's going to be raining soon, and I want to get outside before then. Really enjoying this nice weather.
