Your words form a perfect pairing with your chosen image. yes, the eyes are drawn to the other end with the door slightly ajar. Your next task will be to write a story about what is on the other side! Well done in this one. Clever alliteration too. best wishes for the contest.

Though the words tell the story, I find the absence of preposition disturbs the flow. Maybe, I feel that way because something this short interrupts the thought process. I don't write abbreviated poetry and maybe should be quiet and let those that write it lead and or guide you when necessary.

I think you built up tension, and a tone of excitement quite brilliantly within the confines of the contest. The entire piece elicits mystery, a slight sense of fear, but all overridden with excitement.

I love the imagery this poem conjures. Makes me think of going through a ruined castle finding secrets. Really communicates the excitement of adventure. Love the picture you chose to go with this piece too.

'Eagerness excites.'
Always good to see your name, whatever you write, whatever the volume, I always know the outcome will be resolute, the vision clear. The last line sums up well, for me. The unknown, the not knowing, brings that increase of awareness, thus the eagerness to know.
