Hi there,
Might want to do a recount for wordage here. I make it 98 and it needs to be exactly 100.
It's a really nice little piece but if you don't up the count, it'll get disqualified

I liked the concept of your story - including memories of the dead so closely with family living. The chair becomes deeply symbolic, an integral part of the lounge room (which, where I live, is also known as the living room).

Lisa,
Thank you for taking your time to review my story. I do like the name living room better than lounge room.
The story was successful in winning the contest.
Take care.

And a well-deserved win it was too!

The mother in this story has such a positive attitude, the children unaware of the importance of the chair love it for different reasons. It will always be dad's chair. Good luck in the contest.

This is such a touching write and I could identify with your words as these objects bring back those memories and learn to live without someone we love. I particularly loved this line: "I admired how she dealt with death as if it was life. Perhaps it was". A fine presentation for the contest, a winner for me, love Dolly x

Nicely done. Your wife and I are on the same page regarding death. I hope that my old easy chair will stay in use after I have gone to the other side.
