A nice description of what an orphan must go through. Thank God I have never been involved with that process. I have dealt with people who have been adopted and found that they were really great people or were developed into problems. There didn't seem to be any middle of the road.

Your poem is very well written, great rhyming and a good entry for the contest. How sad for these children who never know what it is to have a real home and family. Bless the folks who are willing to adopt a child that is in need of love.

Thank you for your review yes I think it is sad that so many kids get displaced because of the behavior of their parents. And it is very loving of those families that will take other peoples kids in.

I can't imagine how anyone could give away their child, but even if I could, why wouldn't they want to go back for them. I know my mother and her siblings were briefly fostered out because of my grandmother's poverty, but when she was financially better off, she took them back. Beautifully written Rondel, well done, blessings Roy

Thank you for sharing this writing prompt with us. I agree the idea of not having a family or belonging is must be devastating to a child. My heart goes out to them.

The author's words are heartfelt, sad, encouraging and creative. I thought
about a child in an orphanage and waiting for a parent to come back -
heart breaking. Thank you for these author's notes. I really liked the ending to this poem which is so uplifting. Have a great day!

I'm adopted but as a 3 day old baby. I can still relate! Perfect entry for the Rondel Poetry writing prompt Contest and best of wishes in the contest;-) This poem flowed nicely throughout the piece and didn't seem forced!
Thanks for sharing and many blessings to you and your family this New Year;-)

I love that there?s families out there that will raise and adopt kids they didn?t birth. There?s such a neat out there. Sometimes it?s amazing how many people can just easily have kids I don?t necessarily trying to, and then there?s others that want kids so badly and haven?t been able to.
Thank you so much for your review

A very nice rondel. This is a touching poem and heartwarming. It is so rare for a preteen to be adopted. The notes make this a personal story and heighten the poignancy of the post. Well done.
