This story recounts the frustrations of modern life where running away to live in a cave sounds like heaven. I'm glad for you that your corona version isn't too unbearable physically; suffering exasperations is worse.

I tried once this morning. After going through the menu--the voice says call again later, then disconnects. Fortunately, I don't turn 65 until 2/17 and there's a 3-month post-b-day window.
I keep another phone on the charger and swap them--but it disconnects without warning so I lose the call. I ordered a new phone today on Amazon!

Isn't infuriating to have to deal with the bureaucracy? I get my prescriptions from the Kroger pharmacy and they have changed to what you call a "bot" system. Used to be, we had to key in numbers, as for our prescription. Maybe the thought senior citizens weren't able do handle the numbers. One time I didn't have my prescription number because for some reason I had thrown the bottle away. The whoever or whatever handling my call actually said "That's all right." I could almost feel her reaching out to pat me on the back. Hope you will be able to get answers to your Social Security questions. At least you found a way to spend two yours. judi

It doesn't hurt to think ahead. In these crazy times, you never know what might happen to Social Security. judi

AAAARGH!! I think the bot really knew more than the woman who said Medicare has nothing to do with SSA. I was told that SSA would contact me about Medicare since I'm taking SS early. Hope you can talk to a real human who is knowledgeable!

I feel so sorry for you. I'm too young to do so but I hear that it is a lengthy process but eventually you will get it all work out and sitting at home collecting Medicare benefit.
I really hope you will get it through next time and keep your phone plugged to the outlet.
Well done.
