This skillfully written, delightful poem has captured the very essence of books, of discovering the treasures to be found between the covers of a book. Great choice of artwork

You did an AWESOME job with your club poem, Yvonne. Love it. Your words are well thought out, there's good flow, and you create great imagery within the format, word choices, and image. I could see you (or anyone) sitting with book in hand, dreaming s/he is part of the book. You are right, books can take you anywhere. Your examples of that aspect are great. I like the one about the cattle drive. Your color scheme is perfect for the image, too. As I read, I got an old-timey feel which reminded me of the time before all the electronic stuff. There was no reason for anyone to be bored then, or now. Reading is a great way to increase knowledge in many ways. Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

I have separation anxiety, too, when it comes to books. I must have one close by at all times! My family says they'll bury me with a book in my hand. lol. Thank you so much for this review!

Excellent entry. You captured many sensory experiences in just three stanzas. "Pirates' ship" is a clever twist on the quotidian "Pirate Ships". Thank you for the fun and engaging read.

The window seat in days gone by was an important place because it was here ta there was light to read in the days when light was not obtainable at the flick of a switch. consequently it became the place where the adventures told in literature came to life.
You would have been ticked off by the pirate king had you 'climbed the sheets' as they were part of the running rigging used to control the sails. standing rigging that supported the masts was used for climbing, the stays running fore and aft were used to make a rapid descent (like a zip wire) and the shrouds with their horizontal ratlines (pronounced rattlins) like a ladder were used to ascend.

What a lovely ballad style poem, that quirkily wends it imaginative way through a very neatly written work, I love the lyrical quality of the narrative depends on book that's read, and the defy writing ability of this fabulous writer, well done, blessings Roy
