Thank you for the beautiful review and generous stars, sweet Linda. The anniversary of Richard Harris' death was on the 25th. I thought to post this really quick. I moved it from another slot. I'm so delighted you enjoyed MacArthur Park.
Sending you love and blessings always,
Sal xoxo's...xo...

Well, I never did get that song and I do love poetry. Somehow the metaphor of love as a cake didn't work for me. But I know how much love you put into baking cakes so I can see how it would work for you. Thank you for reminding me of this song. I never knew it was Richard Harris singing. He did so little actual singing in Camelot. His parts often had him speaking the lyrics. I think the Lancelot character sang more than he did.

Thank you very much for the wonderful review and kind comments. He had a beautiful voice, the anniversary of his passing away was just this week. This was not an easy song to sing and showed his great talent.
Sending along way very best to you and yours as always,
Sally XOs

Such good old memories. Why is it some songs hold us in their grips? Probably a person or something that happened at the time...
this whole presentation is great and it was good to hear the song again.

Love like cake makes me want to grab up two hands full and smear it in my head and hair and all over my face. I mean, nothing good unless you get it all over you. Thanks for sharing.

Unfortunately my friend, I do not know or recognize the name Richard Harris or his music BUT i was only 2 years old at the time so think I can be forgiven there, ha ha. Lucky you, getting to be a part of the sixties : )

Oh my, feeling my age here! That?s okay, great music is timeless. I think there?s one from the 30s or 40s in my lineup. I?m glad to introduce you Richard Harris and MacArthur Park. Thank you so much!
Sending you my best today as always,

It seem strange to think of Richard Harris singing! Ha ha ha, he is just an actor to me, but I remember this son, not one of my favourites though, but this is in your Juke box hits, a fun post, love Dolly x

I well recall that song and the cake part--it never made sense to me--I am hopelessly literal-minded--thanks for putting it in context. I never was able to make out the rest of the words!

I think you've finally explained this song to me. I always liked it but never understood the deeper meaning of it. I was 10 years old at the time so maybe that was why. Thanks so much for sharing. :)
