What fun! I thoroughly enjoyed this story/poem. The rhymes are great and the rhythm flows smoothly as the story moves along with great humor.
The Irish know how to have a great time!

Well, I guess Patrick's over indulgence after his resurrection was too much for him and he did actually end up dead, still smiling. This is an appealing ballad of folk appeal I can imagine being read aloud to much acclaim.

Hi there Patrick, this is the most outstanding humour and I love it! You are a born poet. I hope you've got more of these rhyming comedic gems. I have been taking a break from the site so I have missed any previous ones, but so as not to miss any more I am going to become a fan. Giddy

Outstanding. Funny and utterly Irish. I have met the Irish and this exactly captures what it's like to drink with them. All the rhymes work and there are no rhythmic speed humps. Quality.

Delightful! Witty and rich in imagery--vivid depiction of the whimsical series of events--a fine narrative in excellent rhyme. Very clever! Thanks for the chuckle.

Enjoyed your humorous poem, whether true or fiction, it's very entertaining. I think that Irish whiskey should be considered at the hospital these days. Was that final smile on a living or deceased face?

Thanks for the review. Sad to say that the smile was on a deceased face. I don't think the lads paid for the really good stuff.

This is such a special, heartfelt poem for your cousin Patrick McKee. Please accept my condolences on his untimely death. God called him home now. It seems so unfair when our loved ones are taken from us before their time. I guess, God has His reason for what happens to us, He controls life and death.
Judging from this poem, your cousin was a special person who loved life and people. Rest in peace, Patrick.
Great imagery and visuals, thank you so much for sharing.

A rousing bit of Irish blarney. It has the right amount of nose-snubbing at the conventional.
The rhymes are good. The tale stays on point. The language fits the subject. The flow is good.
A good read. Thanks for sharing.

This is just priceless in perfect rhyming form. It would also qualify as a story within a poem. Fabulous entry, Paul. I hope you snag the prize.
Sending you my best today as always, and best regards for the upcoming contest,
Sal :))
