Oh, Wow! What a delightful little twist you gave your story, Liz. I'm happy to see you are back volunteering your time to feeding the needy. I trust you still were able to pocket a couple of cookies for your time? Huh? Seriously, I should be doing the same thing. I'm running out of options for bedtime dessert. Now, really seriously, I would like to think when I breathe my last that I contributed something to humanity besides a few silly stories. But do you think they would let me sit up in front of the congregation and read my stories? Is that enough?
Thank you for sharing this bit of wisdom, Liz.

Thanks for this! Despite what awful people like Derek Chauvin has done, the majority of police officers entered their professions to help people. I wish more would be done to improve their relationships with the community. Enjoyed your description of: "finesses the fine points of social-distancing." Hope Peter knows that a lot of officers are good guys.

I enjoy reading this story and the positive portrait of the police force which has been damaged by many unfortunate incidents. I think majorities of them are friendly and true to their uniforms.
Well done.

Ah ha! Great lesson that many may need. In general, people can be so hypocritical at times. Thanks for sharing this reminder to be more mindful before passing judgment. :)

You are so right, Liz. I appreciate the fact that you published this here to show how stereotyping is a two-way street. That man probably didn't think about the fact that the police were there because it was their job to do so. He should have appreciated that they were there.
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

I for one firmly believe that most 99.9% of police officers are good people and want to serve the public to the best of their ability. There are always some bad apples that spoil the barrel.
