Hello Janet, a field full of dandelions is a gorgeous sight. True Brooke loved them. The trouble is they are tough little beggars and outwit any other flowers in their way. Your poem is really well written and you have indicated that there is a place for them - I agree, you should see road islands on the motor ways, they grow abundantly and are an amazing sight. Loved this poem in good, consistent aabb rhyme. Very well written. Glad I had a six left - unusual on a Saturday, but I've not been on FS much. Well done and good wishes - Dorothy x

Thank you Dorothy for your wonderful review and the special six stars. They truly are prolific and I agree that there is a place for them but I'd rather they not grow in my yard or garden :))))
Blessings and Happy Easter.

nice ode to the humble dandelion I might have gone with all the health benefits of dandelion tea, roots, and leaves. or with how hard it is to kill these weeds or perhaps a mediation on the meaning of the tenancy of the humble dandelion which you touch on in the end. Nicely done.

Oh my goodness, I absolutely adore your poem! I so agree about these poor dandelions that have had bad press over the years and yet they never give up. Your words here touched my heart, beautifully written by a very talented poet, a joy to read, love Dolly x

I think this poem is wonderful and I love dandelions. I used to gather them together to give to my mom, and she was always thrilled. They only last for a short time, but they are lovely. Thank you for sharing this nice poem. :)

This is amazing! I've never thought of dandelions of anything except for weeds, and I love this other perspective of it. I look forward to reading more of you poems. Good job!

I love your dandelion poem. I never got to know Brooke (I joined after she had gone) but I heard so much about her. Your poem is perfect for today when I started my battle with them. You're right that they have a place and gives us a great message. I especially loved your final stanza.

Like the yellow flower. It is pretty because I like yellow color. Any thing yellow is pretty to me.
I like the title "Perseverance." With such an attitude, everything will turn out to be successful like the life of seeds. They grow where they are...

Humble weed that she is, the dandelion does give us dandelion tea, dandelion wine and dandelion greens. Guess it's all point of view. Not every flower can be a rose, I suppose. This was a nice little tribute to the dandelion - and your friend.

And the dandelion is such a welcome sight - we know winter is on the way out when it appears -Adewpearl(Brooke Baldwin) raised the dandelion to new heights in her poetic creations

Dear Jm, did you know that there are many varieties of that humble dandelion, and that many of them are very nutritious for both man and beast. You have already mentioned how much the color adds to the gloomy late days of winter. But I think it's part of God's plan that they are so prolific because, They are needed.
