", they still flicker across the motion screen of life
like that old Saturday matinee
and penny candy I once bought."
I loved this going back to my childhood, Jim.
Bless you form this wonderful writing. Bob

Excellent Poem! The author's words are interesting, descriptive, and creative. I pondered on so many memories reading these words. I loved
it and still save my pocket change! The poem flows and connects well.
I like the artwork and the words pocket change!

Harmony, thank you

You tell it like it was in my young days. Pennies saved would soon add up to a value of worth. They meant so much and bought much more than we would hope for, today. You have delineated the many values we were able to glean with those pennies in the days when "In God We Trust" meant so much. Nicely done in this challenge.

Ralf thank you very much, I miss the days where little things added up to great value beyond material things. Life's lessons were taught that made a world of difference for many of us.

Awe, so many memories about pennies. Girls wore penny loafers too! But gone are all things that required pennies, and indeed most change or cash at all. We did away with pennies in Canada many years ago. I don't miss them. Great poem!

This poem speaks those moments when out of passion or emotion you used pennies so innocently, only sometime thoughtfully, memories teach you the need for saving for more enjoyment; well said, well done; thanks for sharing this. ALCREATOR

Nice trip on the memory lines:"Long before a recorded
ring-ring-ring on a cellular
device, it was cling, clang,
clung as coins were dropped
into the slots on every pay phone
found on every corner in any town.
You would dig through pennies to
select your quarter, nickel and dimes."

Remembering what pennies bought years ago and I remember a shilling which had 12 old pennies in it would buy me a trip to the cinema with an ice lolly for the interval, 9pence to get in and threpence for the lolly. Those were the innocent days of life when we were more carefree. I enjoyed your journey here, love Dolly x

The thought of penny candy brings back many memories. Of course, that's when I got a quarter for mowing the yard. What a wonderfully written poem. Best of luck with your writing!
Have a great day, and God bless.

Hi Mike I think those olden times were pretty darn precious and at the time we didn't know it...

Oh you've captured memories of how far pennies have traveled from the past. "...back when a penny added to five..." A simple penny of simpler times. Thank you
