Oh I absolutely feel the sadness here that Covid-19 has caused, and feel this may be biographical for you also? You're spot on, this pandemic has hurt and affected everyone so much, potentially damaged them very much. Thank you for sharing this.

Hello Hannah!
I am honored by your exceptional rating and thoughtful review.
Yes, this offering is biographical. And my solution? Tulips in a few weeks, but I'll phone first ... :)
So pleased my words resonated with you!
Such a chaotic and unsettling time ...
Thank you, Hannah!

This is truly a well penned poem addressing the issue of the moment and highlighting the danger of fear and man's descend into isolation because of fear of contracting COVID. Beautifully arranged with perfect rhymes. Thanks for sharing your inspiration.

This is a touching and bittersweet story. I like the fact that the beginning is again repeated at the end. Although sad, it is hopeful, in that your friend will probably eventually come around. Thanks for sharing.

Very interesting poem, a poem of our current times, it isn't nice that the media etc has caused people to feel this fear, it has been totally exaggerated and misleading in my opinion. hopefully, you will see your friend soon.
Thanks for sharing

This poem really touched my heart. I could feel the sting of your friend's rebuke as surely as if I stood next to you. I am so moved by your determination to one day get together, in spite of the hurtful exchange. You are truly as good a friend as you are a poet. Well done.

You have expressed with poetry the worst effect of this new virus -- fear of loved ones. I don't think that the generation of that fear is accidental, and we may just have to rise up together against it. Confusion, fear, mistrust -- all tools of Satan.

Butter cups always cheer me. You were right to bring them I think but it is so hard when turned away even at the door. My son has COVID right now and he is in another state. He says he's better, but he was coughing his head off last night when I talked to him. I would love nothing more than to visit and bring buttercups. Maybe a pizza will do. I enjoyed this sweet thing so much and I apologize for no six.
Sending my best today as always,

I think you have made a very good point here. Life is tough at the moment and it does feel like we are abandoning our humanity but then again i live in China where this is normal and they know how to lock themselves away when necessary. Maybe that's a skill we need to relearn in the west. It doesn't mean we don't care as we have more technology to communicate than ever before, but then again who doesn't like an old fashioned hug rather than hiding at home. But then again would we prefer death in a cold hospital bed?
Good luck with the lockdown!

Oh, this felt so tender, affectionate, and heart-warming. Not being able to see friends, especially out of fear, has taken a toll on all of us. And that you've portrayed it here beautifully. I like the choice of words and the rich imagery.
Stay healthy :)
