This love and magic of reading and books is a lovely tribute. The reader will be able to identify with the excitement. It reminds me of the movie The Never Ending Story Here's a nice short link:

Your splendid Nonet reminded me of an eight-line poem, one of two on this topic by Emily Dickinson -- Number XVI from Series Three (1896) of her works. Note that "poetry" in line 4 is pronounced to rhyme with "away" in line 2 (a common practice in her works). Coursers are swift, spirited horses.
There is no frigate like a book
To take us lands away,
Nor any coursers like a page
Of prancing poetry.
This traverse may the poorest take
Without oppress of toll;
How frugal is the chariot
That bears a human soul!
Superb, and aptly illustrated. The video of Nat King Cole singing "Stardust" is a good match too.

Thank you for the lovely review and generous stars, dear Mike. I appreciate the added from Emily Dickinson. A good book on any subject does transport us away. I will be reading and gasp at the hour. Sending you my best and blessings always,
Sal :))

Hello Sal.
This is a compliant example of a nonet and it uses the metaphorical device of comparing the words from the book as stardust. It's well written and has a clear message.

I miss all my girls when they leave my side! Yvette and I have been on the Nonet challenge a year! Wow! I just heard from two that I've been gone for a while and it was good to hear from them. Hopefully they'll return to the site soon. It's always hard to see my friends go through such hard times. Anyway, I find poetry both healing and inspiring. I enjoyed writing this in her honor.
Sending my best today as always, Sally XOs.....

A wonderful nonet. I like the thought of stardust falling from the book. Nothing better than a good book and a comfy chair. An afternoon of fantasies would be very pleasant.

Sorry I haven't written a nonet recently, consumed by other things Sally. This is a beautifully shaped nonet, and a deeply reflective and thoughtful post, I am impressed by the deft wonder of it, well done, blessings Roy

Your nonet is very descriptive and appealing--a persuasive invitation to delve into reading. I especially like the imagery of "stardust." This is not just a dusty old book; it is vehicle to magically transport the reader to another level.

Oh Sally, you have just made my Sunday evening a trip down memory lane.
You have written a beautiful nonet - 'I knocked a book from the highest shelf, and it showered me with stardust'. Just lovely! I then sat back and listened to my absolute all time favourite, Nat King Cole singing Stardust. I love this man and his dreamy, wonderful voice. I cried when he died. Love Dorothy xxx

This is a lovely poem. I have done almost the same thing. I've come across a fine old book and found myself reading it for hours. Love the form of this poem.
